Hi,
Looking for advice on the best building / area to request for upcoming stay at SSR.
Important to be away from loud kids pool, playgrounds, etc.
Would like to be close to bus stop, walkable to Downtown Disney and have a good view.
Don't plan on using pools or eating at resort.

I like the Congress Park area best at SSR. I think that it covers all of your requirements as well. We've never had bus problems from there either, fairly quiet, if you're on the Lake Side it has a beautiful view of the Riverboat that is Fultons across the way.
I must say though if you do decided to eat at the Resort, Turf Club is a great a hidden gem. You don't hear a lot about it but we love it! Good food, out of this world service, and not over-crowded at all.

Welcome baparsons and yes , Congress Parks is a great section. Just got back from there this weekend myself. It was fairly quiet, but you do have the noise from DTD, which was rocking pretty good this past week. Also you can put in a request for a certain view, but there is never a guarantee that you will get it, but they do try. Check this link from Google, it shows you where the buildings are and their names.

I'd vote for Congress Park as well. Ask for a room facing Downtown Disney. That way, you get to face the water also. And it is easy walking to Downtown Disney from there.
