Best Gift YOU'RE Giving This Year

I'm giving a friend the entrance fees for some races he's wanted to do. I know he won't pay for them himself, so this is like giving him an opportunity to continue to take his hobby to the next level.

However, I'm perfectly happy if he doesn't return the favor (running's not my strong suit)! biggrin

Sounds like a good present! I've got my boyfriend tickets to see Derren Brown (is he big in the US???). I rang up the second they went on sale and got us 4 rows from the front, dead centre yay Neither of us have seen one of his shows before so that will be exciting.

I haven't heard of him, but that means nothing. I'm more impressed that you got 4 tix, front row, dead center, to ANYTHING. We don't have the "get good tickets" gene. Or we're cheap. Probably the latter.

I have been roundly uninspired in the gift-giving department this year....I hate that. I really like to put thought into my gifts and make them special. And I'm not going to be able to use the baby for an excuse much longer, since he'll be a year old soon. waiting

They weren't any more expensive, it was just a case of calling the second they went on sale to get dibs on the best seats. He's a...psychological illusionist...and is very famous in the UK. Didn't know if he'd been successful elsewhere, so maybe not then!

Babies are always a good excuse! You've got at least another 3 years of excuse material!

I'm pretty excited about my stocking stuffers this year. My regular gifts aren't all that inspired (um...amazon gift card?), but the stocking gifts are fun.

Caitie gave me, for Channukah, a game called Shadows Over Camelot where you basically pretend you're King Arthur and the knights on various quests, hoping the player who's been marked as the traitor doesn't cause too much damage. It doesn't get much nerdier than that (it is a REALLY fun game).

Shadows Over Camelot is a Co-Op game, right? You're working with the other players right?

Yep - exactly. Either everyone wins, or the traitor wins. It's tough with new players (or when you're new), but a lot of fun with experienced players.

I'm pretty excited about giving my mom some pancake mix! Seriously! It's this wonderful gingerbread pancake mix from a really popular restaurant where we live!

I'm excited about my mom's gift, too! But I just told her about the forum, and I don't want her seeing it here Smile

I like what I am giving my mom - she has been really stressed lately so i made up a basket of relaxation - body butter, books, Borders gift card, lavender wrap, and fuzzy aloe socks. I hope she likes it!

I got Dave a Kindle..I am so excited..I saved up my giftcards from SwagBucks for like 6 months and it paid for most of it! He wants one so badly but it's something he'd never buy for himself.
