Best resorts for buses

While we usually rent a car, I've often heard people complain about buses at certain resorts and praise them at others. For example AKL seems to get a really bad rap for buses.

Has anyone had experience with better bus serve at a particular resort than at another one?

My vote might surprise most. But my vote is for POP. Yes, the line is usually out of this world long. Once at MK the line started at the very last bus stop and went all the way back to the boat docks. From the time we got in the back of the line to the front was about 10 minutes. They rolled bus after bus after bus into that station. It's just one stop and your done. I like that much better at the end of a long night. Also, I like the queues at POP much better. I like the clear line rather than the run for the masses.

We only do Disney buses and we've done them at POR, OKW & AKL. Though we have to ride a bit longer to get places from POP you don't make many stops.

We didn't have any issues at Contemporary...we never had to wait that long either way and only had to do it for two parks...

All Star kinda sucked because there were so many people and so few buses

Averaging out our 56 trips to WDW and each trip averaging 4 days and each day averaged 6 buss rides it comes to over 1300 rides on Disney buss'. I can only recall on a few occasions there being more people in line that can fit on one buss. We have ridden on every buss run in WDW many times at all the resorts. We never go to WDW during their busy times so that could make a difference. We also use all the boat rides and monorail. same thing there. We never had to wait for more than 18 minutes between buss'. Maybe we are just lucky or maybe it's because we are seldom there on weekends.

Joe -- we had an experience with the boats this past week and I thought of you! DW had to use the restroom VERY badly, and we were waiting for a boat from Fort Wilderness back to Wilderness Lodge. After 20 minutes of waiting, two Wilderness Lodge boats were approaching the dock. We knew that one was going to stop at the Contemporary first and one was going straight to WL. We asked the captain of the first boat, but he must have not understood the question and just told us that we could choose which boat we boarded -- then he bustled off to unload passengers.

Long story long, we chose the wrong boat and ended up stopping at the Contemporary. DW was nearly bursting at this time, but knew the end was in sight at the WL. But, wouldn't you know it, it was time for the Electric Water Pageant! We had to sit there and watch the whole thing before we could move forward to the WL! All in all, with waiting for the boat, stopping at the contemporary, and stopping for the pageant, we spent at least an hour getting from FW to WL.

We should have walked the nature path!

To stay on topic, my favorite resort for buses has been Pop as well. Worst = moderate resorts, as you have SO many stops to make!

Oh Space Ace!! Your poor wife!

I have to second the moderates..they are awful. We waited 45 minutes for a bus to MK. The bus queue was packed & tons of people went and told the front desk but nothing was done. 3 Epcot buses came and went FULL of people who were going to scoot to MK before we hopped on the 4th bus..and still no MK.

I have to say we had zero problems with the All-Star bus system, the only long wait was the bus for DTD.
In fact I found not having to drive extremely relaxing. awesome So even a few long waits probbably wouldn't have bothered me.
We also got on the first bus every morning and didn't come back until late so that may have helped.

Our bus experiences were AWFUL when we were at All Stars. We waited for over a half hour multiple times and then were crammed into the bus WAY too close to other people on a hot summer day.

I agree..the lack of driving around makes me so relaxed that sometimes the waits don't bug me!

Do they have the queues at the All Stars now? That was my main gripe with them. It was a mad dash for the bus doors during busy seasons that's what I hated.
