Best Room Layouts?

So which room layouts at which hotels work best for you? We always find the Contempo has a wonderful room layout for us because we need desk space, but it's too expensive to stay at every time. CSR is our usual picks as it's relatively work-friendly. The value resorts and the WL & AKL have really bad set-ups for us.

What makes a resort room set up good for you and which resorts have them?

I never work when on holiday and don't spend much time in the room, so pretty much anything with a bed and a shower works for me.

I love the room we get. Its a studio deluxe I think is what its called? Two rooms connected to a living room and a kitchen. LOVE it, because we can get the kids to go to bed in our room, and we can still stay up in the living room and update on here! lol

That sounds great! I wish we could have one of those, even though there's only 2 of us. laugh

Sounds like the DVC two bedroom villa to me! That's my favorite room choice as well. It's like it's own little apartment, swear to god, living in a two bedroom villa would be a piece of cake for us. It's not just the two bedrooms and living room that I love, but 2-3 bathrooms is FANTASTIC!!

With so many people in my family, it's wonderful for everyone to be able to spread out and have their own space. The full kitchen is a huge plus too! Not only do we get to have a big pot of our favorite coffee every morning, but we've got a huge fridge to store leftovers that we sometimes have from dinner.

I wouldn't want to go back to a standard room if I had a choice. DVC spoils me!

When staying using our DVC points we most often stay in a one bedroom even though it is just the two of us. I love having a washer and dryer. I also like the seperate shower and tub.

Yes! Thats it... but the word studio is in it I believe. Its like 10 feet smaller than a regular one or something like that. From what my Dad tells me... there aren't many of them, and most of the have a pool view.

I think that the word studio only applies to the room designation that I get everytime we go to WDW. It refers to the smallest room (and cheapest in points needed to rent) the all in one room with the small kitchenette and bedroom and sitting area all in one. There are very few dedicated studios and all are of that configuration. All the other studios are made by shutting and locking the door connecting the one bedroom and the studio rooms. When used together I beleive they call it a two bedroom unit. As you notice at the bottom right of the layout is the entrance door going into the unit from outside and immediately to the right as you enter is the interconnecting door to the other unit.

Yeah... thats pretty much it. We barely got ours for this year because I guess they go real quick. We had Sunday through Thursday and was missing Friday. But luckily a couple weeks ago we were able to get Friday. I love our room... its our second home.

We had a studio room when we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. It was just myself & husband but it was very roomy and comfortable.

The DVC Villa's at Old Key West and the most spacious. If you have a large group, the kitchen and living areas in the 1BR and 2BR are the largest on property and the least amount of points.

That looks pretty good. Is that a desk over by the kitchen table?

Ahhh... I gotcha' you're talking about the Two Bedrooms in the value category. They are lock offs (a One bedroom and a Studio that connect) and because they're built where the building curves they have just slightly less floor space than the regular 2 bedrooms, they all face the pool too. That slightly smaller floor space makes them "value" rooms and can actually be booked for the least amount of points of all DVC rooms. It's a great bargain if you can snag one!
