Best Steak at Disney???

My family and I will be at WDW in less than three weeks and are really excited about our trip. We've booked dinner reservations at the Brown Derby and Yachtsman's Steakhouse. This'll be our first time at Yachtsman's Steakhouse, so I'm really looking forward to it. I heard the steaks here were the best once upon a time, but as of late have not lived up to the billing. LeCellier is by far our favorite steak place at Disney, so how will Yachtsman compare to LeCellier? We will see!! For those that have eaten at Yachtsman in the last year, could you give me some feedback on how you liked the steaks (feel free to compare vs. other steakhouses at Disney) and your overall dining experience.. awesome Thanks!!

Well I also have our first ADR for YS in October, but my favourite so far is Jiko..However my biggest disappointment was Le Celier as I had their signature fillet and it was a huge let down...I put it down to the chef having an off night..

eek That's my favorite! I had it a few times on our honeymoon in 2001 and again in 2011 and it was amazing both times. I'm going to be really upset if it's not next month!

So the DH is a huge carnivore and Yachtsman is his favorite. He has eaten steak at a lot of Disney restaurants and this place is the winner every time. We always try out new places every trip but Yachtsman is always a must to eat at. Beautiful location and amazing service. I also need to throw in that I don't eat meat and there are lots of amazing seafood and vegetarian dishes on the menu.

Well, my favorite steakhouse in all of Disney has been well documented on here as being Shula's Steakhouse but as of my last trip in March of this year, it has some serious competition from The Yachtsman Steakhouse. The filet mignon I had at the Yachtsman was utterly fantastic. I could cut it with my fork, It was cooked to perfection, and it simply melted in your mouth like butttaaahhh.
To me LeCellier is on a downward spiral and something needs to be done to pull it out of it's doldrums.

Don't shoot me..It was the anticipation of this dining experience after reading so many rave reviews, especially as I used to live in Canada, so the signature soup was awesome, but the signature fillet was so plain..Reminded me of a whisky event I went to in Edinburgh years ago..There was 12 malts to choose from..My favourite was one costing $35 a bottle..The one I thought was the least interesting costs $240 a bottle.. eek

Gosh has The Basement in Canada ever been a disappointment. We have eaten there twice and didn't like it either time. It was OK, but nothing more. The service was very attentive, so that was a plus.

We ate at the Yachtsman last fall during F&W and loved it. Superior in every respect.

Will be back at Dis in May and want to try Shula's.

I guess I am in for a treat at Yachtsman based on what I'm reading thus far. yay I can't wait!! clapping Thanks for y'alls input thus far.. I did just book LeCellier last night for our October F&W Festival visit. It has become a ritual to go to LeCellier first night of F&W. Yachtsman may, however change that come May.. We'll see!! Thanks again y'all!! awesome

Based on the steak alone, Yachtsman would get my vote for the best. While Le Cellier was once high on our list, it is now on the bottom.

I really have lost all desire to go back to Le Cellier for a awhile. Last few time were just not fun experiences.

Never been to Yachtsman, but so far out of all the places I've had steak(massive meat freak) so far the best has got to be House of Blues, a close second was surprisingly enough Mama Melrose. I've had a few at steaks at Wolfgangs and only once was it amazing, the rest were average. I'm ashamed to admit it didn't realise that there was a Shula's in WDW, I had an amazing porterhouse in a Shula's in NYC a few weeks ago, it's got to be in my top 5 EVER...... simply heavenly.

Hmmm, already booked my ADR's for our summer vacation this year, but it'll be number one next year. As a proud 'meat-a-tarian' I'm not going to miss this one again. Thanks Vettelover.

I was not impressed with Shula's , they must have had an off night. I have no desire to go back there , having had better steaks elsewhere. .

I haven't had a good steak at Disney in a while. . . But haven't eaten at the Yachtsman yet!! Went to LeCellier two trips ago and was terribly underwhelmed. After hearing such great things, we were so disappointed. Cali Grill filet is always good as is the Jiko filet, but a real rich and decadent steak. . . Nope.

So. . Next time we are there, we'll try the Yachtsman!!

With Disneyland I had an amazing steak with asparagus at Ariel's Grotto in California Adventure, didn't even need my knife and it was perfectly seasoned.

Not the best steak for a fancy meal, but for enjoyment over price quotient, the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich at Beaches and Cream will yield a very high result.

Now I'm reconsidering our anniversary dinner at Le Cellier. Guess I'll see what DH thinks of Yachtsman instead.
