Does anyone know why certain buses for Downtown Disney don't run until 11 am? I tried going to DAKL and the Poly from Downtown Disney but the buses weren't running yet. We were deferred to PO then switched buses for where we roughly wanted to go. It was a giant hassle and because of this, my DB and I missed our 'Ohanas breakfast reservations. The manager just cancelled it since we arrived after they closed for breakfast.
I can't answer your question, but I am wondering why you thought Downtown Disney was a good transfer point to get to the Poly for breakfast? Or were you doing some pre-breakfast shopping?
My DB and I had something to do at Casting which across the street from DTD and we thought it would be just easier to take a bus from DTD to Poly. In hindsight, we just should of drove once we found out there were no buses going to the Poly.
Don't take this the wrong way, but as the Disney employee, shouldn't you be telling us??

I know almost nothing about the buses. I just know that they go to resorts, the parks, water parks and DTD along with EWWS when there are events going on. I know that to get to DTD, you have to catch a resort bus. That's all I know.
The buses don't start running to DTD from the resorts until around 10am. You may be told that they start earlier but from experience and speaking to transportation managers if you get a bus before then, you are lucky. We have waited on buses from PO Riverside to get breakfast at DTD (EOS) because we were told that they start running at 8am. Even some of the bus drivers will tell you this. However, in reality there were no buses on this route at this time.

From what I can see, there's nothing stopping non-resort day visitors from parking at DTD for free then hopping on Disney Transportation Bus. It seems like anyone can just hop on a bus without any checking (at least I've never seen a check done).
So, maybe the buses don't run first thing to avoid this scenario during the morning rush to the parks?

On another note, I have read on another board that DTD will be redirected a bit with all the new construction. Lots of parking will be blocked near the West side, and overflow will be across the street in the Team Disney area, with buses to take folks across the street.
Anyone else heard this?
I read the article MrHub posted on FB this morning and it said buses will now start running at 8:30AM from resorts to DTD.
