Character Breakfast Question!

I'll be with my girlfriend, staying at AKL and I wanted to do a character breakfast. I already have an ADR in-park, the morning of our MK day at Crystal Palace with Pooh & Amigos lol, but I was like...what if...we do Chef Mickey instead?

So I checked out the dining reservations on the WDW website and there's times for 7:00AM when it opens! I'm like wow...30 days out? Chef Mickey breakfast? Wow..maybe I should take it!

The main reason why I didn't wanna do it, is because I heard that the noise echoes like crazy and there's kids running all over the place. But then it occurred to me...7am...there's no kids up THAT early! We can get a nice awesome early breakfast with Mickey & Minnie and stuff. Sure enough, I searched like 9am-10am'ish, and there are NO times available at all!!

Should I switch my ADR to Chef Mickey at 7am? I just wanna make sure we'll make RD at MK. I kinda wanted to ride the monorail this trip anyways lol....I've never rode it before...I know I know..I'm a rookie! Be gentle!

Thanks!!!

PS: Route is AKL to MK, then monorail to Contempo right?

Although...I'm literally sitting here laughing out loud to myself...7am? CR? Am I really sure we'd be getting up that early to make breakfast from AKL?!? Crikey!

I'm not a fan of Chef Mickey's, however if you get there right when it opens it might be okay. The food is pretty much basic buffet stuff. People don't go to chef Mickey's for the great food, they go for Mickey Mouse. Personally I would take a cab from AKL to the Contemporary (about $25) leaving about 6:30am. Taking a cab will save you a good half hour travel time. You'll get a full loop on the monorail from Contemporary to MK after breakfast.

Should you change it? I wouldn't.

I'm with Kristen.

Plus, I'm loving the fact that you just said "Crikey"!

My husband and I went to chef Mickeys and because it was the 2 of us we were seated in the furtherest table from the front (kiddos) so we actually had a wonderful breakfast, nice and leisurely. We really loved it.

I don't take cabs at disney just because i would rather spend the money somewhere else, plus with all the money you already spend i take full advantage of the free transportation they offer, so that being said yes you can take the bus from AK to MK then monorail to contemporary.

For that early of a reservation, I agree with Kristen on taking a cab. The buses may not be running at that time.

From my understanding the buses used for early park ADRs start one hour before the earliest reservations. Both Crystal Palace and Cinderella's Royal Table open at 8:05, so the buses for MK probably won't start until 7:00. I don't know if they factor in times for ADRs outside of the parks.

or you could walk from the AKL to AK and just take the bus directly to the contemp. resort. now i have never stayed at the AKL so i don't how long the walk is from AKL to AK it could be to long to be worth it. if the bus runs that early, but i think it does

No, that's really not a possibility at all. There is no walking path or sidewalks along the road from the AKL to the AK, the two are not connected other than by roadway and it would be very dangerous.

Im with senseicj on this one. $25 is a bit of change... I'm all for making life easier, but id take AKL to MK. Im also pretty certain that the busses do run at AKL earlier. If your unsure... just call AKL and ask. I even have the number handy! 1(407)938-3000. Since your so close to the date, they should have a definite answer for you. But yeah... $25 could easily add to your "magical moment".

Edit...

HA! Just read you turned it down... so scratch it! BTW... I echo Jessi.

I actually take cabs a lot first thing in the morning or last thing at night. In the morning I'm just too lazy to wake up at 6am for an early reservation and if the lines are long heading back late at night, no way. $25 will [pretty much get you anywhere you want to go on property, and when dragging along tired cranky kids a cab is a god send.
