Cirque du Soleil

I think I spelled the Cirque and the du correctly, but not sure about the Soleil! My French teacher from high school would be so ashamed.

ANYhoo....I'm just wondering: does anybody know how long La Nouba is scheduled to be around? How long has it been around? Don't they revamp those things every now and then? I really want to see it, but I am not a fan of the clowny-looking character who's on their ads, which makes me think that I wouldn't enjoy the show. (Clowns = not a fan.)

La Nouba is a resident show exclusive to Walt Disney World. I don't think it's going anywhere any time soon. I saw it in 2010 and loved it. It got me interested in seeing more Cirque du Soleil shows. I recommend seeing it.

Loved the Cirque show at DTD. Have not seen it since they changed it up a bit like a year or so ago. Saw a traveling Cirque show in Cleveland two years ago and it was really good.

In comparison to cirque du soleil shows in Vegas, how do you think this one fares? I love the idea of it but only liked the Beatles, O and Zumanity in Vegas.

Oh, I didn't realize La Nouba was a WDW-only thing. That's good info, Joann_C! Are there LOTS of clowns? Not a fan.

Not a lot. I can remember 3 of them.

La Nouba is an amazing show, I saw it a few years back and am planning on seeing it again this year! They occasionally update and change around some of the acts in the show but the storyline etc generally stays the same. I'm not a big fan of clowns either and don't remember there being very many of them! I think everyone should try and see this show at least once!

I havn't been lucky enough to see any other Cirque shows but from the clips I've seen online they all are pretty similar just carying in music and acts!

Okay, I'm feeling better about this. Three clowns I can handle. Two hours of them, I cannot! Smile

I was watching America's Got Talent the other night, and they had some performers from Cirque come out and do their thing, and I was MESMERIZED. Got me thinking that I may want to work in a show the next time I'm in WDW.

Thanks for all the info, everyone. I think we may give it a shot!

We just saw it this past trip and did a backstage tour. The tour was sooo boring. The show itself was very fun! Minimal clowns- and they barely even look like clowns.

I just can't go see this. My husband really wants to every time we are in WDW but the commercials freak me out!

We bought our tickets already for the week of Thanksgiving...will be going on the Tuesday night. We have a close friend who went last year and highly recommends it.
Have seen Zumanity in Vegas (adults only show) which is awesome...and the videos available on line for La Nouba look good. Hope to have a good night...Smile

I know! They freak me out, TOO! But, I'm hoping with the positive feedback I've gotten that I'll survive with minimal psychic scarring. Keep your fingers crossed! Smile

We saw it in 2010. It was great and I really barely remember the clowns. Not a bad seat in the house either!

I also got a backstage tour, but found mine to be quite fascinating. Maybe it helped that the person giving us the tour was just a carpenter on some sets backstage. Interesting fact the some people may not realize is that Disney's only role in the production is in selling tickets. The rest of the performance is run by Cirque di Soleil.

We saw it a few years ago and I can't wait to see what has been changed. Really cool show from what I remember. For the seats I was able to get for us I couldn't pass up to opportunity to go for a second time.

I went last August and it was awesome. I honestly thought it was going to be boring and not worthwhile, but I had a great time and thought the show was excellent.

I've seen O and Mystere in Vegas and I actually liked La Nouba more. In fact I saw it once and when DVC offered $50 tickets, I saw it again.

We were chaperoning 6 high school kids and the woman touring us did not want to be doing it. She was so cranky and yelled at the kids for asking questions when she was talking and for taking out their phone, when I wanted to take out mine because of boredom! lol She said nothing exciting or interesting and was rushing through. Other groups we passed were laughing and engaged, but she had a bad attitude. We asked another tour guide and he said they have had other complaints about her attitude and that she hates giving tours there. I told him that explained a lot. Sad for the kids to see this kind of attitude, but they really enjoyed the show that night anyway!
