Coronado Springs Resort

Looking back at the historical offers Disney has made in the fall....most exclude our beloved PORFQ and last year they also excluded Riverside.

So I am looking at a new Moderate Resort as a back up plan and have to say I'm intrigued by Coronado Springs.

I am particularly interested in the Business Room as have found previous posts saying it puts you in a building closer to the main entrance (food court, check in, etc.) and it has a free breakfast and free happy hour (including it seems my favorite drink-Sangrias!).

I'm looking for more current, up to date feedback from anyone who may have been at Coronado over the past year or so ? and if anyone has taken advantage of the Business Class rooms?

Oh my gosh- Yes please Robyn!

I just took the plunge and went ahead and booked a Business Class King Room for Coronado Springs! I was starting to get involuntary twitches not having something on the books! My Disney OCD can't handle it! eek

Checking in Oct 21 with Checking out Oct 30th . I also threw in the 8 day park hopper tickets...

Rooms might change later, depending on what (if) Disney offers any specials..but at least I feel like its happening!

I stayed there with my family when it first opened and also went back for a visit and walk around a couple of years ago. It is a really beautifully themed resort. I remember the plants and flowers were very beautiful and the pool area is nice. It is a convention hotel so there may be a lot of people walking round in suits rather than Mickey Shirts. I remember we ate in the food hall when we visited recently. It was very confusing and not run like other Disney food halls. I can't exactly remember why it was so confusing - I am sure Robyn will let us know unless it has changed. I do remember we ended up not paying for our meals because there were no cast members on the cash registers and we couldn't find anyone to swipe our dining plan credits. The reason we have not stayed at Coronado again is simply because we are in love with Port Orleans and also we would miss the boat to Disney Springs.

Stayed in business class every year since it has opened. Our latest trip was 11/2015 and have another planned for 7/2016 for 8 of us. I love it. For the location alone it is worth it but the lounge is the icing on the cake. No it doesn't compare to a deluxe club level but it works.

My mom and dad just visited and they stated it seemed more upscale moderate than other moderate resorts. They loved the room layout. The only negative was the location, bus rides can be a little long if you take Disney transport!

All great feedback! Thank you!

buzz2001 I found your pages and signed up -nice sites!

Miss Mikki I read the Pepper Market Quick Service used to have some sort of ticket system where you had to take a ticket around and mark off your foods..sounded very confusing and labor intensive for quick service..from what I see it has been discontinued and it operates like a regular quick service now.. Looking forward to Robyn's thoughts too! The boats to Disney Springs has always been a huge alure..the last time we stayed..the boats were down (due to high winds) EVERY time we went to use them...understandable but disappointing...we spent a lot of time "checking" to see if they were running..made me realize I can't base my stay just on the boats.. sad ...we still do love the grounds of the French Quarters.

Eeyore..Looks like the bus schedule might have improved some...seems one bus picks up at 4 stops inside Coronado..ours is the last pick up so most parks within 5-10 minutes away- Downtown Disney Springs is 20 minutes...hoping things are still running smoothly when we get there! Thank you for the great news they were happy on room layouts, etc. mickey

well I didn't want to chime in as I truly want to see how the latest reviews go so that is why am weighing in as I stayed there and it was awful and I vowed never to go back so this should be interesting.

Yes and it started with check in...our rooms weren't ready (checked in Round 11am) and that was fine so they took my cell phone number and my girlfriends and we headed to Downtown Disney (as it was called at the time). Well about 4 o'clock we said let's head back and on the bus I called and asked about our rooms and was told it was ready a long time ago and so I asked why I didn't get a call and was told that they are at 100% of capacity. So I asked if my girlfriends room was ready and was told they had never checked in...what?????? They checked in with me. I was starting to get really upset so I handed the phone to my girlfriend and her husband. And when we got back to the resort we went to the front desk to get it straightened out and again was told they are at 100%. Arghhhh. Then our luggage wasn't in our room so I called and was told again we are at 100%...argh...I lost it and said I don't give a flying fat as s (sorry about the language) and hung up. So my friends called from our room to see about their room and was told that they are cleaning it now and that their luggage was in their room. So my girlfriend asked what the room number was and was told they can't tell them that as their room wasn't ready. What our luggage is in the room but we can't know the room number. Arghhhh... And our can this luggage be in their room when mine is still among the missing. So this is all am going to say to my 1st complaint.....there are many more and I can't tell how many times I was told we are at 100%.

WoW! That's horrible ! sad I would have been beyond frustrated too .....

As it turns out- we've already made a shift in plans.... I really want to go for 10 days this time...7 always feels too rushed and the one time we did 10 I felt it was just right for us. The business room with an 8 day hopper pass for 2 of us was pushing $3900. Still needing to add airfare, food and *gasp* souvenirs... I reanalyzed our room situation.

We decided to change it up this time and try Pop Century. I can get the same amount of time and tickets at a cost of $2300 - and that $1600 savings can sure go a long way towards other Disney fun! I know several on here have commented they enjoyed the benefits of saving money with still having a nice resort (and a designated busing system-which was my gripe the one time we stayed at All Star Sports) so I called and changed our resort last night.

So-Cheers!-Here's to Pop Century (at least for now! biggrin )

I added a request for Pop Century of a top floor and a view of Illuminations Reflections as I read somewhere you can see a nightly view of the fireworks.

We watched the Star Wars fireworks from the back of building 6 every night! As far as values go, Pop is my favorite!

yeah very frustrated so I know many people love that resort but not me...really put a damper on our vacation as I said that was only arrival day issues. Sad
now last June I stayed at Pop Century (1st time at a value) and I was surprised I didn't mind it and 100% preferred it over CS. But my heart belongs to POFQ. Smile

I just got back from a quickie trip. I stayed at CS for the first time in more than 10 years. The last time I stayed there it felt so spread ou and I didn't enjoy it. This time I enjoyed the room but that's about I saw of the resort. I was in Casita 4 which is a great location to get a bus to the parks. It is the first pickup and first drop off. Since it was such a short trip, I had a resist for breakfast away from CS every morning so I have no clue as to how far my room was from El Centro (the main building).

We've stayed at Pop Century a couple of times. I like it better than the other value resorts because of location and not sharing a bus.

Well it sounds like I'm too late but we stayed at Coronado in Sept 2014 and enjoyed it. The food court is awesome and my only gripe was the truly awful bus service, but hopefully that was just a fluke on our trip.

I've never stayed at Pop but we will be there in 6 days!

I love Pop. It is my favorite value. I'm considering changing resorts to save some money. If I do, I will more than likely change to Pop.

We didn't stay in the Business class rooms but enjoyed CS. It's a large resort, it doesn't feel as big as CBR. I planned to explore the grounds this past January but never got over to the pyramid pool. We were closer to the food court/checkin area and bus stop #2 which actually was the first stop coming from the parks bus stop #1 was last in pick up and drop off. There were a few conventions happening when we went so it was little odd to see so many people in business attire at Disney. As always the CMs were great and I liked the convenience of the business center.
