Dining on the Disney Cruise Line -- With Pics!

What was your favorite restaurant experience on the Disney Cruise Line? Do you have DCL foods that you could love to have again? What are your favorite DCL Foods & Bveerages? Got a picture? Post it here!

---------------------------------------------

I'll start....

I loved the lunch Buffet at Enchanted Garden our first day on the Disney Dream. We went there directly after boarding the ship, all the food was fresh and delicious. It was a pretty basic spread with roast meats, some pasta and seafood.

My favorite thing without a doubt was the Strawberry Tart

Lunch Selections Strawberry Tart, Lunch Cupid Mickey Fountain Enchanted Garden Dessert Selections

Oooh I can't wait for more pictures to be posted (and I'll share our own after our cruise of course!). How does lunch work on the first day of the cruise? Do you just eat as soon as you board if you board around/after lunchtime? Do you eat at Enchanted Garden or are other places open too on that first day?

After you are announced onto the ship the cast members will sort of funnel guests to where they want them to go to eat. We were in the group that was to take the elevators down to Enchanted Garden, so off we went rolling luggage and all. It was sort of busy and clustery getting there but once at the restaurant everything was fine. We arrived about Noon and so they were sending everyone to eat. I'm told that Cabannas (the main buffet) is also open, and that you're welcome to go there if you don't want to go to the Enchanted Garden.

Enchanted Garden was our first restaurant on our dining rotation

I had the chicken - it was yummy (as was all of our food on board i must say!)

I believe this is pork, it was Sy's dish

Sy's special dessert as it was his birthday

Day 2 We went back to enchanted garden for breakfast, i didnt get any pictures but it was standard buffet food. I am not a fan of buffets so didnt really eat all that much.
We then went to Royal Palace for lunch as we were skipping it for dinner in favour of Palo, and as we were on a 3 night cruise we didnt want to miss it out completely
The bread basket

I had the quesedilla to start, it was yummy! Sy tasted it and like it too Smile

Sy had some seafood thingy that i cant remember the name of Tongue he really really enjoyed

We then both had the sandwich as a main, Sy liked it very much but there was something about the taste i didnt like, but couldnt put my finger on it though and im sure it was me and my stupid fussy food habits!

Ah and then the good bit, Palo. This was without a doubt the best meal of our entire holiday, and Sy said it was the best meal he has ever eaten.

The antipasti

The breads

My starter was a mushroom and polenta dish, it was very nice but i wasnt keen on the polenta, i'd never had it before but wanted to try it. I would still order it again though... if the soup wasnt available....

Which brings me to the white bean soup. OMG! i hate soup, i literally NEVER eat it. this was one of the best things i have ever eaten! Luckily Sy didnt mind sharing Wink

Sy had the osso bucco as his main and he loved it. he even liked the marrow (yuk!)

I had the chicken Smile

For dessert Sy had the souffle, he loved it and when i tried it i like it too Smile but as im not a huge chocolate fan i didnt want to have a whole one.

I had the panna cotta with strawberry basil sorbet. the panna cotta was amazing! so so good! the sortbet, omg, it was so gross. I kept seeing plates going back to the kitchen with the sorbet still on them so it wasnt just us.

Day 3
We didnt want a buffet so we ended up in royal palace again Smile
Pastries were brought first

Then i decided to try eggs benedict, it was nice Smile bit rich but i had nothing to compare it to. (sorry i had started before i remembered to take a picture!)

Sy had a breakfast omelette

We then ate lunch on the adults beach on castaway cay, i didnt get any pictures sorry!

For dinner it was animators palette
Bread basket

I just had a plain chicken breast and potato, wasnt too hungry

Sy had fish pasta

I then had creme brulee

while sy had a cheesecake i think

I didnt take any pictures the day after at breakfast, sorry!

wow that was really in depth lol sorry!

Your breakfast at Royal Palace looks yummy. We just did the buffet and I wasn't too impressed. It wasn't bad, just boring. Next time I will be sure to try Royal Palace,

Making me sad that we had to postpone our cruise. We would have been leaving in just under two weeks. Now I have to wait until October to eat that scrumptious looking food!
