Hi Alisonspad and welcome and a word of warning, when you purchase the pizza from the takeout window just BEWARE the seagulls are very aggressive and have been known to snatch an entire slice of pizza right out of the hand of unsuspecting customers. It actually happened to my wife a few years ago and when she went back to the window to purchase a replacement, the CM at the window said that it happened all the time and they did not charge her for another slice.

That's terrifying! Super nice of the CM to provide her with a replacement, though!

Tortuga Tavern- some people don't know about this place because its closed often. But they make a pretty good (and big) burrito there. I like it. I like it alot.

Colonel you are not a thread killer. I don't have a restaurant to post because it has been close to 5 years since I have been at WDW so my aged memory is failing me. Hope you had a great Christmas. Santa

I had a wonderful Christmas. I am enjoying a much needed respite from the stresses at work - I return to work Jan 7. I will be returning to WDW at the end of September 2013. YES!!!!

Here is something I discovered on my last trip. I got shut out of the Yachtsman Steakhouse, so I ate at the Yachtsman bar next door. They have tables and waiter service. The food comes from the same kitchen, and you can watch the games on TV and you are, (ahem) right next to the bar. It was very nice.

It's called the Crew's Cup Colonel, and yes, they have a fantastic menu! It's been awhile, but here's the write up we did about it.

Crews Cup, Ale and Compass, Martha's Vineyard- they all get mixed up after a while. I tried to drink at every place around Crescent Lake that has drinks in one night. There are alot. I didn't make it to ESPN. But I had a magical evening.

From what I remember, it was. The next day...not so good.

We have a new quick dining tip!!! Last night we were walking slowly out of Epcot after illuminations. It was an EMH night and quite cold!! We got hot tea in China . . . But the BEST thing was the toasted ham, cheese, and apple sandwich from Norway's Kringla Bakeri. It was on a whole grain bread and DELICIOUS!

Hot tea, a tasted sammie and a quiet bench near the lake . . . All the pavilions lit up . . . . Perfection!

Now that all of the dining plans include the drink cup. I'd say go for the plans. Is a built in souvenir and we had great meals on the regular plan. I've combined my TiW and DDP into all our meals and we've saved quite a bit and eaten even more.
The CA Grill has great views of MK and Epcot fireworks. The spicy Kazan roll is delicious as is the oak fired filet. We generally stick with the regular DDP and make ADRs for at least one signature restaurant. Then we either share or use QSmeals for the evening we don't have a TS credit. So far it's worked put great.

You use TIW and DDP?

I've see the same thing happen to a lady with a funnel cake at Epcot.

A couple dining suggestions:

1. One of the better values we have come across at World Showcase is "crispy shrimp and fries" @ the Refreshment Port CS. 5-6 shrimp and fries for $7 and they don't put them in the fryer until order is placed.

2. For relaxed outdoor dining, try the Cabana Bar, located next to the quiet pool at the Dolphin. Good food and drinks(not on DDP)!

When you make your reservation at a restaurant, mention that you have a food allergy. You can always ask to speak with a chef when you are at the restaurant if you are unsure about menu items. My boyfriend can't eat cheese and the chefs have come out and talked with him to see what his allergy is. They are very accommodating to most dietary needs.

WE have some "egrets" (I've had a few?...sorry) who are very brave and come right up to you at the picnic areas at AK. I was helping one of the sons with something simple and when I looked back they were swiping lettuce off of my salad. YUCK.
Again, a CM saw it and took me up to Flame Tree and they replaced it for nothing. I guess I have no more "egrets".

Never apologize for bringing up an old thread. Some of the best ones are the old ones!
