And now for the end of my trip report. We arrived back in New Orleans the morning of 02/14. My brother sent me a picture of the Wonder at the port that he took from his hotel room and the business card of an Imagineer he meet who was staying at the same hotel. We started the day with breakfast at Animator's Palette. It was nice to see our servers that we had all week one last time. We were off the ship and in a taxi to our hotel for the weekend.

My brother, sister-in-law and some friends were waiting for us when we arrived. Part two of the trip was about to begin. We visited in the lobby and had some king cake (it was Mardi Gras after-all). Memoree wasn't feeling so she went back to the room. Abby and I went to check on her before we were heading out. She was on the phone with Southwest Airlines changing her flight (she was supposed to stay until Sunday morning). She got her flight changed and we made sure she got a taxi to the airport before we left. We walked across the street to tour the Sazerac House. After the tour, we got some lunch and walked through the French Quarter. Dinner was as Mona Lisa Restaurant. This was a new experience for all of it. We got there about 15 minutes before it opened. It is really small so we were lucky to get seated right away and had to get two tables for the 9 of us. We got back to the hotel in time to watch some parades.

Saturday started with breakfast at Mother's. We tried going to the Ruby Slipper but it was too long of a wait. We had to be back at the hotel around 11:00 for Abby to catch the airport shuttle. After Abby left, we hit the French Quarter then back to our hotel for the afternoon parades on Canal Street. Some of our group went to Mass at St. Louis Cathedral. The rest of hit the bar across the street from the hotel. When they got back from Mass, we had dinner in the hotel (we picked up Muffulettas from Central Grocery). More parades and then said good byes to our friends who had an early flight Sunday morning.

Sunday morning, we were down to 6. We had breakfast at the Ruby Slipper and walked to the French Market and through the French Quarter. We stopped to watch the Barkus Parade (a dog parade through the French Quarter) and back to our hotel for the afternoon parades on Canal Street. Two other members of the group had left before the parades started. The four of us had dinner at another new to us restaurant.

Then it was just 3 on Monday. Our friend had an early flight Monday morning. My brother, sister-in-law and I hung out around the French Quarter until it was time for us to leave for the airport. One notable stop was at the Famous Door Bar. Outside the bar is a list of famous people who visited the bar. Walt Disney was on the list.

And a month later, the world shut down. Sad

We often talk about how lucky we were to have taken this cruise before things got really bad. Just two sailings later, COVID-19 made its way on the Wonder.
