Disney World’s Kouzzina by Cat Cora to Close

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up the Kouzzina by Cat Cora will close September 30, 2014 per the Food Blog. It will re-open but don't know when and what it will now become.

Was just about to post about this! I had been considering this for a dinner ADR for our Sept trip and decided to skip it, but now I'm thinking we should maybe add it back in since it will be our only chance. I know breakfast gets rave reviews, but has anyone had dinner here that could recommend it?

The food was good, but as Robyn said, there's nothing that makes this place special. I have done it twice, once for dinner, and once for breakfast. Given the option, I'd rather do many other places ahead of it.

So, too bad that it will go and become something else, but I don't think it will affect me in any way.

Zz.

Breakfast is great, heard good and bad reviews about dinner. I remember when they closed Spoodles for that! Ugh!

I won't be sad to see it go. Nothing on the menu is interesting to me. Nope, not even cinnamon chicken. yuck

We stay at BWV and only had dinner there once. Breakfast on the other hand, at least once every trip. Appears breakfast will be at Captain's Grill or Grand Floridian Cafe, when we return mid October.

I had breakfast there in November and liked it. Glad I got to try it at least once.

I've never been and didn't really plan on going so this won't bother me at. I'm excited to see what replaces it mickey

I agree with Ken. I have looked at the menu a lot of times and could not find anything I thought I would like. I also share Ken's thoughts of cinnamon chicken yuck .

We'll be doing breakfast there in May- mostly because of convenience, since we're staying at BWV. Now I'm glad we'll get to at least try it before it goes away.
I'm excited to see what will take it's place!

They could change it back to Spoodles and I would be thrilled. We ate at Spoodles twice and loved it both times. Then we never saw anything on the Kouzzina menu that made us want to go back.

I kept debating doing this for breakfast during my Sept trip but ultimately decided against it, and now I actually think I'm glad because chances are I'd love it and then never be able to eat it again. I'd rather never know what I was missing at this point. laugh

I love Greek and Mediterranean food, but I dined there once and did not have a good experience. I hope this is not Disney washing their hands of the celebrity chef restaurant altogether. That would be a shame.

Just saw this post. This makes me very sad as I love this restaurant. It's on my always eat there for dinner list. I love Mediterranean food and Kouzzina does a great job of it. I haven't had a meal there that I didn't enjoy. I think it's just the end of Cat Cora's contract with WDW since it' sheen open for 5 years.

I thought that people who worked in various countries at Epcot spoke a little of the language...LOL..I once started a conversation to a Greek friend of mine in Crete, but speaking very slowly as it's a little rusty, but this Greek woman starting asking me something in Greek and it was so fast I couldn't understand a thing..LOL.. laugh

Your quite correct..We sailed from Epcot to Boardwalk..Still I thought if it was a Greek establishment then you should be able to say " Hello " and " Goodbye " ...LOL...

This is what is taking over Kouzzina - from the Disney Parks Blog today. It's supposed to open in December.

Sounds interesting, but very similar to Via Napoli at Epcot. We shall have to see...

As much as I love Italian food, I kind of have to agree.

Pizza, in all it's forms seems to be a big item with families. Since a few other places also failed in that location my bet is appealing to the masses could be a great move. I also would prefer more variety

Since The Boardwalk is considered a "destination", this is probably exactly what is going on. I too would have liked to see something different.

Agreed. I was pretty bummed when I saw it was going to be another Italian restaurant, especially when you have Tutto Italia and Via Napoli within walking distance.
