Disney World "Scheduling"

When you make your schedule for your time in Disney World, do you pack it full of parks, restaurants, and activities, or do you include some down time for relaxing?

We always include down time, but it never seems to happen. Travel always seems to take longer in Disney World, so we're always running behind. laugh

We always schedule too much, but we still manage to fit in a nap!

Maybe if we went more often we would have time for down time, but with only being able to get there every couple of years we feel compelled to pack in as much as possible.

Do you have a trip scheduled or at least vaguely planned Tony?

We were thinking late 2011, which became late 2012, then our son announced he was getting married in the Bahama's in 2012 so we'll have to go there instead.... it could end up being another three years (which would be four years since our last visit) at this rate.

If we are there for a week or more, we schedule in some down time after lunch for 2 hours or so. Usually involved going swimming or taking a nap. If we're there for a shorter period, we try to take advantage of everything and figure we'll relax after we leave mickey

I have to plan "downtime" to keep my husband my friend. However, is it really "downtime" when it's planned and I am sitting there bouncing off the bed ready to hit the parks again?

I pack it all in! Sleep is overrated! I can sleep when I get home!

So he's the one bouncing off the walls waiting for downtime to be over..or you are?

Haha - YES! He cannot sit still. We tried to take a nap on the hammocks at the Caribbean Beach one year - he last 2 minutes and 38 seconds.....

Do you just let him run off on his own to burn off energy? I'd get exhausted.

Haha...maybe we should go together and you and Dave can nap on the hammocks and Joe & I will run around Epcot in a tizzy.

No, we're a package deal and do everything together. Pool time seems to have become a good compromise. The first time we went for 14 days, I thought I was going to die. I was exhausted!!

I like Bella's plan - win-win all around awesome
