Do you Periscope?

One of the hottest new apps that I have found lately is called Periscope, and Disney fans are taking it by storm!

You can get your Disney fix all day long with Live Stream feeds from fans visiting the Disney World & Disneyland parks and resorts. All you need is a smart phone or tablet and a Periscope account and you can start getting your Disney fix. One of the best Scopes going is @Spokesmayne . He does some great streams from WDW. Watching him in the Animal Kingdom as I write this. Another good Scoper is @Disney Periscope. She streams from Disneyland almost everyday. Here are a few still shots that I got from some streams.

The app is not just for Disney though, you can see live streams from around the world. You can see a map which shows where and how many people are broadcasting around the world.

I will be trying this out in September when we are at WDW for our 12 day stay at the Poly. Hope to see some of you joining in on my scopes!

I am afraid it's gonna be something else I have to keep up with LOL. I've watched a couple but I haven't really gotten into it yet...

You don't have to keep up with anything but if someone is broadcasting, you will get a notification and you can watch if you want.

You're one step ahead of me, Watchmaker. I have a dumb phone...no apps. And I couldn't even find it to download it onto my iPad. All I could find was a third-party "Periscope Search" app, and I couldn't even get that to work. mad

I haven't seen any live streams, but I have watched some Straight No Chaser re-broadcasts online. They're available for 24 hours after the first stream. You have to have Chrome, Firefox or Safari to watch online. It doesn't work on Internet Explorer. I find the constant barrage of comments popping up a little annoying.

I've deleted it from my I Pad as it kept popping up when ever I changed apps..weird... confused

For periscope all you would have to do is start a Twitter account. To remove the comments you just swipe right and click on "hide chat".

So - how did this go? Did you have fun doing it? Was it just a hassle? Do the videos record or is it only a live stream?

I just made an account with the thought I may try it out in February. I'm @Kristen_WDWFG

Periscoping is seriously addictive! There's even a FB group called disneyscopers silly we would scope and then save the videos after. Think we are gonna start uploading them to YouTube, I thought it might be a bit rubbish as a lot of the time we are talking to the camera, but other people do it and it's still fun to watch their uploaded videos.

Might be fun since I'll be there on my own.

Seemed a bit of a hassle to me. To much talking to the camera. I'd rather just live stream on ustream.

So - I've been playing around with this for a bit, and honestly, I'm bored already.
It sounded fun, but meh - I think I'd rather spend my time creating some nice editable videos to upload to Youtube.
