Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

All of the info is out now for the Food and Wine Festival and I was just wondering who's been to one of these and what did you enjoy? Are there certain "country locations" that you liked? Did you do any seminars or wine-tastings? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Here's all the info from the Disney Food Blog

And the main page at Disney

We really enjoy wandering around and trying all the new food items. In our experience, we've gone for food we know we like, but we always make a pact to try something we think we might hate!

Also really like the beer seminars.

Wine pairings are always cool. I usually am pretty boring with my selections so it's nice to get some variety in.

Yeah yeah yeah!! There's so much to do there, that I usually only have time to do the free stuff -- so no reservation-only things for me. That said, there are some amazing free experiences at the F&W festival!

And what I REALLY love about the festival (really, all festivals at Disney World) are the artists who come to share their work. I've had so many wonderful conversations with David Doss and others.

I've always wanted to try Party for the Senses, but it's a bit expensive. Has anyone been?

I haven't been, but always read the reports from other people clapping I would love to go to one sometime, but we're the same in thinking it might not be the best use of money.

@Annie -- those tequila tastings DO sound fun, don't they? Are you a tequila fan?

Here it comes...Mike's 2 cents.

Donna and I went to Disney for our honeymoon. One of the reasons we waited 2 months after we got married was so we could go to the Food and Wine Festival. Here's my thoughts:

Party for the Senses: ESPENSIVE! But worth it, IF you like wine and would like to try different wines and some pretty tasty food...in small servings. We tried many wines and many foods that were paired with them. And it was a wonderful experience, but we wont do it again. Like I said, EXPENSIVE! But if you have never done it and the idea appeals to you, I say go for it.

Side note...people say to rush in and get a table. My advice...dont bother. You have to get up and down to get food and wine and once you get up...people grab your table. We found a spot out of the way and sat on the floor for most of the night. Not a big deal. People looked at us like we lost our mind, but by the end of the night, lots of people were doing the same thing.

Wine Tastings around the World: I think this conversation we overheard pretty well sums it up:

Guy walking by to a man sitting on a bench: Is this expensive?
Guy on Bench: It will cost you $110 to walk around the world and taste it all!

We did find some pretty good wines to taste, altho some of them were a little too much for the small glass you got. But some were really good. In fact, we bought a bottle...Bodega Norton...and bought a mouse ears wine stopper. Nice souvenir.

That was my guess as far as the expense, however I hadn't heard anything about it being that hard to find a seat. You'd think with what they charge they could move a few more chairs in there. I'd think sitting on the floor would lead some people to feel like they've overpaid. Was it a shortage of chairs, or just a shortage of good chairs?

That was my thought, too, Brad. There was a shortage of chairs. They sell X number of tickets...why dont they have X number of chairs? I dont think I exactly overpaid, I did it more for the experience, to say 'Iwas there once', but it did seem to me there were too many people in a limited amount of space.

One of the good things...they have a ton of CM's walking around clearing tables You just keep your glass. Even though we were on the floor most of the night, the CM's collected our plates too!
