Favorites/Not-so-favorites

My family and I had a discussion this weekend about our favorite and not-so-favorites in Disney. So I am curious what is everyone's favorite/least favorite rides and places to eat?

For me:
Rides

Favorites:
1) Haunted Mansion (could just ride this over and over)
2) Kali River Rapids
3) PeopleMover ( I consider this a ride. It is really one of my favorite things to do in all of WDW)

My not-so-favorites:
1) Star Tours ( I love Star Wars. The ride, however, makes me feel like I am going to see my turkey leg again yuck )
2) Primeval Hurl (same reason as above)
3) Tomorrowland Speedway

Food

Favorites:
1) Pinocchio Village Haus ( I love watching the boats)
2) Sci-Fi
3) Beaches & Cream (Ice cream!!!!)

I do not really have any place that I do not like though Captain Cook's gave me gluten filled chicken even after I spoke to a CM and told them I have Celiac, so we probably will not be going back there. I have to say besides this experience Disney is one of the safest places I have ever eaten. They are so careful and always have a manager/chef come speak with me. It makes eating so easy.

We are pretty split as a family, my DD and I love the Rockin'Rollercoaster, all 3 mountains and Everest but my DH and DS are both 'big girls blouses' and only like slow rides like the Movie Ride at HS and Nemo so we often split up when it comes to rides.

As far as food goes, I can't cook and regularly serve up culinary disasters at home so we are all easily pleased when it comes to someone else doing the cooking!!

We didn't book any ADRs last year but are hoping to try O'Hana for dinner and BOG for breakfast this time (if I can get one of those elusive ADRs!!). Also we are planning on trying those famous Beignets (I hope that is the correct spelling) that they have at POFQ. Hopefully some of these will become favourites.

This is probably a really lame, and a mum-like, thing to say but my most favourite thing about Disney is that it is immaculate. It is so clean and really well maintained, the fact that I never see litter or a dead plant or even a chipped bit of paint. I find it amazing that you can visit a park one day and even with the thousands of visitors they get, you return the following day and it looks exactly the same......that is magical to me. mickey

Fear not, I've been online and ordered myself a life so hopefully I should be getting one soon!! laugh

That is hard to come up with a list of favorites! I'll give it a try though!

Favorite Rides:
Test Track
Soarin
The 3 Mountains (in order Splash, Space, Thunder)
POTC (I once got stuck in the scene where they are auctioning the ladies.. "we want the red head!!")
Haunted Mansion (I could ride this 5 times in a row and not get tired of it!)
Expedition Everest
Dinosaur

Not So Favorite Rides:
Mission Space (I dont mind the spinning, but I just dont find it comforable being 6'2 in that tiny space)
Hall of Presidents (I love history but it doesnt have enough to make you want to ride it twice for me)
Any of the rides that just go in a circle (Aladdin, Dumbo, Astro Orbiter).. Again, the spinning doesn't bother me at all, I just don't want to wait in line to go in a circle over and over.

Favorite Restaurants:
California Grill
Ohana
Monsieur Paul or Chefs De France (Need a LONG walk after to burn off some calories!)
Shula's Steak House
Earl of Sandwich

Not So Favorite:
Le Cellier Steakhouse (I think this restaurant is SO overrated! It has a cool theme, but if you want the best steak this is not even close in my opinion.)
Rose and Crown (just not my favorite food, everything seemed so heavy. Tasted good, just not my cup of tea)

Overall I find Disney pretty perfect, the things that are not my favorites I'd much rather do everyday then not be in Disney!

Do I only get to do three in each category? Ugh! That's rough!

Rides
Favorites:
1) Splash Mountain
2) Expedition Everest
3) Tower of Terror

My not-so-favorites:
1) Mission Space
2) Mad Tea Party
3) Primeval Hurl

Food
Favorites:
1) Yak & Yeti
2) California Grill
3) Columbia Harbor House
felt like I had to pick a counter service, table service, and signature to narrow it down!

My not-so-favorites:
1) Chef Mickey's
2) Whispering Canyon Cafe (just had a poor experience, but I'm sure the restaurant is great)
3) Backlot Express (my sisters had a poor experience, that's all I have to base this on)

Favorite Rides - Everest, Soarin, Mine Train and Rockin Roller Coaster

Favorite food - SANAA!!!!!!! Are there other restaurants? wink Cookes of Dublin, Yak and Yeti and Be Our Guest (mostly because I LOOOOOVE Beauty and the Beast)

Least Favorite Rides - Primeval Whirl, Space Mountain (gasp, I know...), The Great Movie Ride (I don't get all the fuss)

Least Favorite Food - Honestly, I've yet to have a really "bad" experience at Disney, I don't think I could say "hey, I really didn't like so and so at so and so.... Give me time, we are DVC now and will be going more... I will find something I don't like laugh

We should set up brackets and play this out. I would set it up, but I'm lazy.

Favorite Rides:
1. Tower of Terror
2. Rock-n-Roller Coaster
3. Haunted Mansion
4. Expedition Everest

Least Favorite Rides:
1. Stitch
2. Mission Space (I really don't get what all the fuss is about. I find it absolutely boring sitting there just pushing buttons. I don't feel the spinning at all.)

Favorite Food (I LOVE signature dining):
1. Victoria & Albert's (Hands down winner)
2. Narcoossee's
3. California Grill

Least Favorite Food (These choices will make me very unpopular.):
1. Cosmic Ray's (Basic theme park food...meh)
2. Yak & Yeti (I'm not a fan of Asian cuisine.)
3. Earl of Sandwich (I'm also not a fan of chain restaurants.)
4. Yachtsman Steakhouse (I've only eaten there once and it was not up to my standards for a "signature" dining experience.)

I hear you. There are very few chain restaurants that have my loyalty. Overpriced frozen food for most casual dining places is not what I would call a good meal. I'm only loyal to Five Guys, Jimmy Johns and my guilty pleasure Subway but that's about it in terms of chain restaurants.

Favorite rides:

Haunted Mansion
Splash Mountain
POTC

All classic, perfect themes, tell a story, great music, and with SM you even get a small dose of thrill. They never get old.

Least favorite rides:

Captain EO- although not a ride, just an awful waste of Disney time.

Restaurants- V&A are in a separate class

Favorite Signature- Cali Grill
Favorite TS- Beaches and Cream - just a burger joint, but it's my happy place
Kona Cafe- Eaten here three times and it was always outstanding
Favorite Park TS - Y&Y or Le Cellier
Favorite CS - Tortuga Tavern - I know it's about Taco Bell quality, but I love it anyway.
Guilty Pleasure- The Egg Roll Cart

Least favorites: Mama Melrose, Hollywood and Vine, Tony's, Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe

Awesome!

Favorite rides:
The mountains (splash, space and thunder)
ToT
Rock n Roller coaster
TSMM and Buzz - TSMM is way better, but at least in Buzz I can still compete and dominate
Star Tours
Everest

Really, any ride that is at least moderately thrilling and doesn't spin.

Favorite restaurants:
Citrico's
The coffee bar in Coronado. (don't remember the name, just that I became addicted to their coffee)
Cinderella's Royal Table (food was good, but it gets my vote because they make any special occasion, that much more special. Ex: The DW's birthday and our anniversary they sat us at the table for two at the window to watch the Wishes show. It made the DW cry because I'm sooooooo sweet.)

Not much I don't like. The CS in pioneer land is bad. Mainly because every family with kids goes there for dinner all at the same time, so I have never had a good experience there. Also, Hollywood and Vine. Not a fan.

As far as rides I don't like. Anything that spins. Small World - This ride is just bad and boring and the song is such an earworm that it makes me hate the ride even more! Great movie ride - boring. Hall of Presidents - boring. Stich - boring.

Granted, in a few weeks I get to go to the world, and it'll only be my third time ever going in my life. So, I have a bit more to experience still.
