Favourite Restaurants

I know we all love the restaurants at Disney, and each have our favourites. Just curious on what other restaurants are your favourites in your town and beyond. Here's a list of mine:

1. Peg Leg Pete's -- Pensacola Beach, Fla. -- Seafood
2. Mediterraneo -- Providence, RI. -- Italian
3. Port of Call -- New Orleans, LA. -- American (best cheeseburger ever)
4. Dickie Brennan's -- New Orleans, LA. -- Steakhouse
5. Bottega -- Napa Valley, CA. -- International (probably the best meal I have ever had)
6. Sotto Sotto -- Toronto, Ontario, Canada -- Italian
7. Tozi -- London, England -- Italian
8. Beatrice Kennedy -- Belfast, Northern Ireland -- French, Irish
9. Morimoto -- Napa, CA. -- Asian
10. Golden Palace -- Pensacola, FL. -- Vietnamese

I love that place. We've actually driven over just to eat there and came back home. About a 2.5 hour drive to New Orleans from Pensacola. Worth it awesome awesome

Impossible question, but I'll attempt to answer anyway. I'll start with my favorites in the places I've lived and gone to dozens of times, and then hit my favorite restaurants of all-time (I've only been to them once)...
5. Elliott's Oyster House--Seattle--Seafood--Ridiculous selection of oysters, and the best simple grilled salmon.
4. Oklahoma Joe's--Kansas City, Kansas--BBQ--The best barbecue anywhere, especially the ribs. Who cares if it's in a gas station?
3. Alan Wong's--Honolulu--Hawaiian--Every single thing was perfect.
2. Commander's Palace--New Orleans--Cajun/Creole--A culinary mecca.
1. Picasso--Las Vegas--Spanish/French--It wowed us like nothing else ever has and changed our lives. Seriously.

My favorite inexpensive restaurant--Lotus of Siam--Las Vegas--Thai. Be careful to order conservatively on the spicy index, though. They go by Thai spicy ratings, not American.

My favorite inexpensive vacation treats--a tie between Leonard's malasadas on Oahu (the most fantastically different doughnuts ever!) and Norwegian schoolbread at Epcot (had to get a Florida reference in somewhere, but it's true; very true).

I'm going to give a bit of a British outlook Smile

1) The Chophouse, London - great steaks, great atmosphere, and for the capital, not too pricey!
2) the Market, New York (off 9th Avenue) - we visited this restaurant when we were attending NYCC, and were impressed with the service and the food - both we're top notch
3) Jamie's Italian - Birmingham. One of Jamie Oliver's places, it does Italian food well.
4) Pasta di Piazza, Birmingham. Family run, the best pizza in Brum!
5) Punchinellos, Nottingham - one of the oldest restaurants in the midlands, their food is lovely
6) The Cock Inn, Wishaw nr. Birmingham - nice bistro feel, and you may even see a famous golfer or footballer grabbing dinner Smile
7) Mal Maison, Birmingham - another one for celeb spotting - we met Robert Plant there!

Ahhh Eddie! My fellow Pensacola-er! Smile Well, most of my life I lived in Pensacola so Peg Leg's was a frequent stop for us, but not really a favorite. It is good though! Dude, the bushwacker festival!! Do they still do that?

1. R Place - Pensacola (Don't know if it's still there, but great little sandwich place downtown)

2. High Cotton - Charleston, SC

3. Hank's Seafood - Charleston, SC

4. 131 Main - Charlotte, NC

5. Capital Grill - Charlotte, NC

6. Mama Mia - Huntersville, NC

4. Eat N Park - Indiana, Pa

5. Ponderosa - Olean, Ny

I guess that's really it.
