Hi guys! mickey

Have you seen Disboards today? Things are crazy there because the DV FD is going to be released tomorrow morning, at 7am!
They said it was supposed to be released today (May 1st), but due to some event at WDW the date was postponed to May 2nd.
Therefore, the release date for general public is also supposed to be moved from May 5th to May 7th.
They are also saying that neither POFQ nor PORS are available for DV FD. I wonder if they'll be released for GP?

OMG! Can hardly wait!!!
clapping

I've been on hold since 6am CST and at 8am on the dot it disconnected me!!! It took me another 12 min to get through the "All circuits are busy now" and I'm back on hold. What a morning!

Yeah, we have been following closely and much of what they warned us about has happened. We decided in the ninth hour to move cs before it was closed. TA said we got the last two standard rooms so we moved just right. If PO anything reopens with FD then she will move quickly with our consent.

Watching the panic and mayhem I admit that I was getting abit obsessed and panicy because cs is NOT my favorite place but we can't go Deluxe and all other options are double beds. I was a bit bummed.

So just before we went to bed, my DH, who really doesn't say much except, "Let's go to Disney" and "What's the final tab?", looked at me and asked a question that stopped me in my tracks:

"What's the worse thing that can happen? If you get too tired, we'll find you wheels to help. In the meantime, I will start exercising with you to help strengthen the leg muscles you still have. If you want a pastry or other and it's too far at the resort, I'll go get it for you. They have a lot of bus stops so we don't HAVE TO go up front. So what's the WORST senario?

I replied without a blink: "We wouldn't be able to go."
He smiled and said, "Then the rest is frosting." Serve and Point.

I CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY. We are going to Disney for a week, during W&F with best friends (who are discovering it for the first time), staying in the bubble and with flights and after FD is in, we will be looking at a total package of about $2300/couple
I CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY! (but if two standards in PO anything opens, she isn't waiting to ask - she's jumping)

In the next 8 weeks,
* I am teaching summer school (extra Cash, DH is retiring.
DS1 is earning his masters on 10th and his company is sending a group of his co-workers to surprise him (4hr drive one way) because they believe he is worth it.
*My three men are singing with me on Mother's Day in church for my present ("I Hope you Dance").
*DH's final concert is the 12th and he doesn't know it but alumi, staff, area musicians, and family are not only coming, but at the end they are standing up to sing his favorite hymn "Precious Lord".
*In 8 weeks we are moving into our retirement digs and we bought new living room furniture being delivered there.(haven't done that in over 20 yrs).

I have SO many reasons to be happy and grateful. So

I CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY

Off to teach K-3 Phy Ed...LOL my ears will ring for hours after as their voice are VERY high pitch when they are yelling. LOL - off my soap box for today.

To qualify for the free dining, did you get a PIN number for this or just give them your Disney Chase Visa card number?? We booked through AAA for our fall trip and they are saying we need a PIN...is this true? I REALLY want to save some $$ mickey

Nope, I didn't use any sort of pin, they just asked for the first 6 digits and the last 4 digits of my Disney visa card number to confirm that I did in fact have a Disney Visa before they started booking and then I had to put an additional $200 down since I had already paid the deposit for the trip when I originally booked on a non-Disney visa.

SpamGoddess...I was super excited to receive the notice that Free Dining is available today, but I received another email (from MouseMisers) saying that Disney Visa card holders now also have access to the room only discounts for mid-August to early October. Below are the savings:

Percentage Savings:

Save 30% at Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Boardwalk Villas and Boardwalk Villas.
Save 20% at The Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Beach Club Villas
Save 30% at Disney's Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Yacht Club Resort, Boardwalk Inn, Animal Kingdom Lodge (standard and pool view rooms only) and Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Save 20% at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge (Savanna view and club level rooms only), Beach Club and Disney's Contemporary Resort
Save 20% at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans Resort " French Quarter, Port Orleans Resort " Riverside and the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness.
Save 15% at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, All-Star Music Resort and Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's All-Star Art of Animation Resort (Family Suite Rooms only)

This site usually waits until things are "Disney official", so I would check it out if you have this card!

We are working with a Disney Vacation Planner and she was able to give me all the public info for next week. (not a DisVisa holder). In addition to the above info, the promotional dates are:

Aug. 31-Oct. 3
Oct. 26-Nov. 1
Nov. 9-Nov. 20
Dec. 12- Dec. 23

Glad to have someone else doing all the leg work & waiting on hold for me. clapping

Our TA said her boss put in one call to apply the FD to a bunch of existing rez, in order to save time. They have been on hold for SIX AND ONE-HALF HOURS. To quote her: " Since it's on speaker phone, do you want to know how many times that means we have heard Winnie the Pooh?"

We will be there the same time! I "think" at CSR as that is where our reservation is right now, but if FD doesn't come thru, we will take the RO discount with our DV at POFQ.

She finally is on with them after a NINE HOUR HOLD!

My TA, ended up going the faster way and just rebooked the stays for us so that he could get them all done. I bet POR just totally emptied out now.

Ourr TA ended up moving us because of the wait she could see the allowed percentage of FD allowed for standards wasn't going to be there when she finally got thru, so she held two King rooms and was able to get those. It didn't save us as much ($400 instead of $700+) but to quote my DH last night, we SAVED money and can eat free - No complaints here!
Our friend said if we were "forcing him to sleep in a king bed" he wanted the crown to go with it. I will have to see what I can do.....LOL

BTW Our TA is a huge Disney fan and goes every Sept for her birthday, so we are sending her a Disney gift card in appreciation for all she did with this. It's was rough for all of them....but TEN HOURS! eek

My TA contacted us when they announced FD for Disney Visa cardholders. (We don't have one.) She said once they announce FD for the general public she'd crunch the numbers and see which is the better deal...FD or 35% off room at WL. I haven't heard back from her yet, but we're only staying for 5 nights (Sept 17-22) so I don't think we qualify for FD. Sad I guess we'll stick with the 35% off room only discount. That saved us over $600 so I'm OK with that. awesome

actually they "suggest" 6 nights but you can do less as long as you have three days of park tickets.
