Glad I found this site!

Hi Everyone.

I ran across this site about a week ago during my planning for our December vacation...just my husband and me. You seem to be a lovely group of people. I already feel right at home here.

Thanks Scrappy and Jeff.

My husband and I will be staying at two off-site hotels: Peabody (the duck hotel) and Hyatt Grand Cypress which has an amazing pool area and lots of great recreation.

We'll be there from Dec. 11-17 for everything Christmas. Can't wait!

Oh how fun!! A lady with whom I work told me about the Peabody & the ducks a few months ago. She stays there every time she goes.

I LOVE the ducks! It's not just the duck march that they have twice daily (once when they come down their special elevator to the fountain, once when they go back), it's the fact that everything is DUCKS. The towels, soaps, floors in the lobby. When you look out your room down to the pool, they even have images of ducks on the ceilings of the structures below.

The "Duckmaster" who guides the ducks to and from the fountain is actually named Donald. He said "There's a Jesse (duckmaster) in Little Rock, a Dave in Memphis, but I'm the only Donald".

It's all I can do not to leap out and touch one of the ducks while they're on the red carpet, but I think I'd be tackled by Donald, the Duck Master.

I see why your friend loves The Peabody...very fun!

Welcome Reflections , very glad you found us! Have you been to WDW before as adults with no kids? It's great, but going with kids is good too. But no kids is better! It's totally different.

My husband and I were just there in September. It was incredible...a little too hot for my liking, but such low, low crowds. So, yeah, I love going there just the two of us.

We're going there for a relatively short period of time, so didn't plan any big dinners. We're just eating wherever we are. We LOVE Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney...inexpensive and so good. I've also put together an extensive list of cupcakes that I'd like to try with the Butterfinger one at Hollywood Studios being at the very top of the list. Can't wait!

Hello and welcome to the best disney board around. Like my husband (mase) said...we were just there and I miss it already...I was on the same cupcake mission as you but with being on the dining plan and getting dessert with both meals it was hard to get them all in...but i did get a couple in and will be talking about them in my trip report

Hi Jess.

I so glad you had a great vacation. Are you already planning your next? Since I'm not on the dining plan and I have all my cupcakes planned ahead, I'll be making my dream come true. I may have to do some of these clapping when I get back.

Have you guys seen the insane Cupcake Crawl from Disney Food Blog? It would put me into a sugar coma, I'm simply not woman enough for all that cupcake greatness. I did however finally get to try the Black Forest Cupcake at the Contemporary last trip and it was delish!

Yeah... we go every year, and next year will be the week AFTER Thanksgiving. We usually go the week AFTER Thanksgiving, and then the week BEFORE Thanksgiving so we can get an annual pass and use them twice. But for this next two year trip, we will be doing AFTER Thanksgiving for a cooler trip and more Christmas stuff, and then in 2013 we are going to try Halloween.

Hi,

The key thing to remember about picking our brains is to first bring a surgical saw.

Awww, I'm confident that I can get some good ideas from all of you. I'm the Disney newbie (somewhat anyway). Actually, you could tell me just about anything and I'd believe it.

Le Cellier, huh? Don't you have to have an ADR about 180 days out to get into that restaurant? I didn't even peak in, but I think Canada is the most beautiful. Maybe the new renovation of Japan will put it out front for me, but for now, I like Canada best.
