Halloween at Downtown Disney?

Does anyone know if there are usually any Halloween events going on at Downtown Disney? My room mate is going to be there and I made him a dinner reservation at Raglan Road, but I'm wondering if there will be other stuff going on. Has anyone ever been there on October 31st?

Have not been there yet. But hopefully some day! Something special has to be going on that day though.

Okay - what about Raglan Road in general? I haven't been - is the food good? Music? There are dancers right?

I was there last year, but not on Halloween. The whole downtown area is decorated beautifully, but nothing was going on special for the holiday that I was aware of. Raglan Road = Great food, really good music and fantastic dancing! The atmosphere is great! He will love it!

I really wanted to like Raglan Road but was not overly impressed. Yes, there were dancers, but we could barely see them from our table - just their heads bobbing up and down in the distance. The music was good. As for the food, we both got pies - shepherd's for hubby, some kind of chicken pie for me - and both were very heavy. Not bad, but not awesome. Mine left me feeling so full and bloated we ended up leaving Downtown Disney a lot earlier than we'd planned. I might go back someday, but I'll definitely get something lighter.

Oh yes, the food is very rich, heavy Irish cooking! I ate light so I had no problem with that and we sat close to the stage. We had no trouble seeing the dancers. They are in the process of enlarging the stage, or were when I was there in June of this year. So hopefully it makes it better for more tables to enjoy the dancers.

My DB and I really like Raglan Road. Food is great and entertainment is great. I didn't like some of the food, just because I didn't like what was in it.

Two years ago they canceled trick-or-treating at Downtown Disney because of overcrowding. I have not been there on Halloween (although I was there a day before) and it was already really crowded, so I imagine that the event would have been extremely packed. Be grateful the trick-or-treating was canceled, otherwise you may have been searching for a parking spot all night instead of making it to your dinner reservations. They have that stage in front of the World of Disney store, so there may be shows going on that day. Usually the shows are by schools, but the kids are all really talented and it is nice to take a break and watch.

He'll be on a Disney bus, so won't need to worry about parking. mickey

Regarding the shows - the last school troupe I saw there did not have a routine that was Disney appropriate, so I try an avoid them!

Crazy that they wouldn't preview a school performance before unleashing them on the DTD crowd!! What were they thinking??
