Hi Mousefan! I'm jealous that you're going to the Polynesian. I've always wanted to stay there. Do you always stay in the Polynesian?

Welcome aboard! mickey

Lucky you! The Polynesian may well be my very favorite property in all of WDW.

We may book it for our next trip, unless on our next trip we stay at the Animal Kingdom Villas. crossfingers

I'm not sure that there is a secret, or if there is even a rhyme or reason to it. As far as I know, all you can do is ask. If conditions permit, and if the CM feels like it, your request may be granted.

Of course it never hurts to mention something special you may be celebrating on your stay. "What Will You Celebrate" is Disney's promo for 2009 soyou never know...

"I'm celebrating the upgrade I'm about to get! Hook me up!!!" laugh

@MouseFan:

How much different was the Club Level experience? Shelley said in the Favorite WDW Resort thread that she basically never wanted to stay anywhere else after experiencing Poly-concierge.

Never stayed at the Polynesian but It is certainly beautiful!! I eat at O"Hana often. Love it. And I seem to buy stuff at their gift shop a little too often. Have a great time.

O'hana certainly is on a lot of people's top Disney restaurant lists.

Hi. Just followed a facebook link to this site. It seems interesting, but I'm curious as to the backstory of how it was developed.

I'm also curious as to why abbreviations and words like "cuz" instead of "because" are disallowed. I tend to write phonetically, especially when being silly. Will I be automatically warned? Banned? Athough an adult, I'm not certain I can be considered a "grownup". I'm close to 50, but doubt I will ever attach "grownup" to my lists of attributes.

If I seem inappropriate in asking this, please let me know.

Welcome to the site!

I think the "grammar" rule is just a common rule in forums, I certainly haven't seen the admins "lay down the law" about things like that. I'd say as long as users aren't mean to each other (which I've never really seen on here), you're good to go.

As far as being a grownup we've had lot's of discussion about what that really means. I think the site is generally geared to people who love to go to WDW, and not because they do it "for the kids!"

Hi US! Welcome to WDWFG! mickey

Cdub's right; we're not big on warnings or banning users (we're not really a dictatorial bunch! laugh ). We've got a great crew of members and have never had a problem with how people use the site. The request is really there to make the site useable for people from all over the world--even if English isn't their first or most fluent language. To help ensure that, it'd be great to keep things as legible and readable as possible for all users. That's all biggrin

And the history of the site is that we love going to WDW, whether or not we have kids with us. And as WDW is clearly a draw for honeymooners, groups of friends, couples, empty nesters, and solo travelers, we're obviously not alone! There are lots of sites out there that focus on how to enjoy WDW with kids, but there aren't a lot out there that present info and foster discussion on how adults enjoy Disney World, which includes riding Dumbo and getting Mickey's autograph as often as it includes sampling great wines at Jiko and taking backstage tours. That's what I love about being an adult at WDW---you can always be a kid there, too! clapping
