Hello

Hi all. I am new to any type of forum but decided since I was checking this site twice a day for the last few months it was time to join in the fun. After reading some of the trip reports and general posts I decided to try a solo trip and include a few ADR's. I think all your the food pictures and descriptions finally got to me so i will try a few ADR's along with F&W. I am at the World from Sept 29th to Oct. 5th.

Excited to be here.

You may see a post from me twice since I am not sure what happened to the first post I "thought" I saved. After completing this post I am finding it hard to believe I work with a computer everyday.

HI all and thanks for the warm welcome. This is my first solo trip. It appears Disney fever started a little late in life for me. At 23 I had gone once with my Grandmother and 25 Senior Citizens (65+) on a bus trip from Philadelphia to Disney World. My memories are not so much about Disney World but about the folks I met on the bus. They were a hoot! Thirty two years later I took a friend from Brazil to WDW for three days. I mean where else would I take her?
I cannot describe what happened to me walking down Main Street that day but I immediately understood why they welcomed you home.
I am normally a long range Disney Planner but my plans for this trip began about a week and a half ago. I was supposed to go on vacation with a friend the first week of September. She had said no to my brilliant idea of going to Disney World and we had settled on Seattle. Unfortunately, we had to cancel those plans in late August. The testing part of a project that I am responsible for started Sept 3rd and was not supposed to end until October 8th. I had already started looking at Disney for a week at the end of January since the rest of 2012 was out. Finally I realized the reason I was trying to push the testing to be completed by the end of September was because the IT team in China wanted to take the first week of October off for one of their national holidays. I am a little slow but even I suddenly realized I had a full week in October. Pinged my boss next morning and asked for the time off. He approved and that night I called the 800 number and made the hotel reservations. I usually book a package on the web but called because I took the plunge and ordered the annual pass at the same time I made my reservations. Since I had done some serious vacation saving and budgeting for the trip to Seattle I was able, with the discount, to make a reservation at the Boardwalk Inn.
I knew the ADR's would probably be limited since I am so close to leaving so I decided I would pick two restaurants I had never been to in each park and see which one was available. With F&W I knew I definitely had a backup plan. Below are the ADR's.
ADR's:
Arrival Day Sept 29th: Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. For some reason the Pilgrim's feast is calling my name.
October 1: Dinner at Coral Reef Restaurant. I am looking forward to eating in a fish bowl.
October 2: Lunch at Sci Fi Dine In. This place just looks like so much fun.
October 3: Dinner at Teppan Edo. Looks like an opportunity for good food, entertainment, and hopefully to meet interesting dinner mates.

I had a great lunch at Sci Fi.......I loved the commercials they showed...too fun.
The food and shakes we had were terrific.....its just a neat place to visit.

Welcome Jan (great name by the way!!). My DH (KenJ) and I just returned from staying at the Boardwalk for the first time and loved it. Since it is so close to Epcot that will be a huge benefit during F&W. Enjoy your trip.

welcome Hi Jan, I'm new to this site too, but I'm thinking we'll both enjoy it as Disney lovers. My husband is not as crazy for Disney as I am so I often go alone. Would love to meet up while you're here. Let me know if you would like company, maybe have lunch together one day. You'll love the Boardwalk. Be sure to check out the art gallery there. They have some wonderful pieces both Disney and other topics. I know you will enjoy your trip.
