Hello from London

Hello!

I discovered this website a few days ago and you all seem so friendly that I thought I should say hi.

I live in grey old England where there is not much Disney Magic, although I have been lucky enough to visit the parks in Orlando, California, Hong Kong and Paris. Tokyo is calling me, but I haven't been able to convince my family to go there yet! I am going to be 30 this year, so my boyfriend and I are spending a couple of days in DLRP (to soften the blow of being 30!) and we are also going to WDW in May 2012. stars

Incidentally, while I am rambling...I read somewhere that the Enchanted Grove doesn't sell the Strawberry Swirls any more. gaah Can anyone verify if this is true? Last time we were there we had strawberry and vanilla together and it was delicious!

Welcome to the forum! Glad you said hi! Out of all the different Disney Parks you've been to... which is your favorite?

As for your question... I'm not sure... but ill check the info I have and see. Maybe someone else will know as well.

Again... welcome!

Hi! and welcome to WDWFG we have other members on the board from across the pond, Tony and MacUK come to mind and a few others as well. Glad you found us and hope you enjoy your times here. Please do tell us your likes of WDW and I am looking forward to your views of the other Disney parks as well.

Wow, I wasn't expecting a response so quickly! And to think I almost went back to work after posting! Thank you for your welcome messages. I will try and answer your question but it is really hard! I think all the parks are so different so they all have elements that make them special.

Hong Kong is really small (there is no Frontierland) but when we went there was a lot of street entertainment so you don't seem to notice the lack of attractions. We spent a day there and did everything...including the train which takes you from the city to the park and is Disney themed inside. There is a Golden Mickey's show there, which I haven't seen anywhere else. We really enjoyed it but the rest of the audience was very reserved. We may have broken ettiquette by whooping a little bit at end instead of just clapping...

Up until my last visit I was not that impressed with the Cast Members in DLRP. In WDW you can't walk past one without them saying hello, but it just isn't the same in DLRP. I don't know if they are worried about getting the wrong language, or if they have just never got into that habit. However, on my last visit I had my purse stolen in the queue for the Autopia, having been there about 3 hours, and the staff were amazing. We had a cast member from our hotel take us to the police station to translate (my French is shocking!) and she gave me a voucher for 2 free pins afterwards...and 3 days later my purse was returned to City Hall - the money was gone but I was still really impressed that it made its way back.

DLRP has a beautiful castle, and you can go inside, plus the Small World is gorgeous. It doesn't have the bottle neck problems that the MK gets around Fantasyland, but then it is missing some major attractions. There is no Jungle Cruise, Storybook Land has no guide...and has been closed on all but one of my trips, there is no 5th land (like Liberty Square in WDW) and the studios park is still under major redevelopment...oh and there is no Dole Whip!!

Obviously Disneyland is amazing becasue Walt has been there, and there is just so much in WDW. No matter how many times we have been we always find something new. I could go on forever about the differences between all the resorts but I guess if I was going to live in one it would be WDW. I can think of nothing I would rather do than work in Epcot!

Sorry I have waffled again...this is why my family and friends don't ask me Disney questions anymore!!
