Hello from North Georgia

Hi everyone,
I've checked this site several times to get tips and info, but wanted to officially join in the forums. I'm in my mid-30s and my wonderful wife and I both love visiting WDW. Our most recent trip was in February. We'll be down there again in May for a day at Star Wars Weekends.
I look forward to hearing everyone's tips and stories.

Hi there Atom. Lucky you to get to go so often. I've never been to a Star Wars weekend in HS, although our favourite time to go is May. It sounds like fun. Are you staying onsite? For how long?

welcome May is my favorite time of the year to go as well, though I've never been to a Star Wars weekend--have you been to one before?

Hi Atom and welcome to our happy group, were so happy that you found us and even happier that you thought enough of us to join. I see your trip in 153 days and assume you are a pin trader, is that correct. We have a few other members who are into trading, as for me I am just into buying pins. Smile

Thanks for the welcome. The trip in May we'll be staying with family in central FL. This obviously helps with costs. I'm only going for one day, as we'll be heading to the beach for a few days as well.

Vettelover, I am a pin collector/trader. I'm fairly new to it, but love collecting Nightmare Before Christmas pins. There's a big event that weekend in September, 13 Reflections of Evil for pin and vinylmation collectors. I'm planning on staying onsite that weekend, probably at Pop Century. Waiting for discounts to be released.

Hi and welcome, Atom! Are you just planning on hitting DHS on your May trip since you will only be there one day? I see you're staying at AKL for your February trip...have you stayed there before? What's your favorite place to eat in the World? Can't wait to hear all about you and your Disney trips!

Thanks for the welcome Allie. I'm planning on splitting my day between DHS and Epcot in May to take advantage of Star Wars Weekends and the Flower and Garden Festival.

We stayed at AKL in February and loved it. We booked a standard room, but still got to see tons of animals from our balcony (zebras, antelope, gazelle, and giraffes). It was our first time staying there. Only complaint, as with most people, is it is a bit removed from some of the other parks. We had dinner one night at Jiko and were very impressed. Both our meals were great, great service, and tremendous wine selection.

Hi Atom, and welcome from across the pond. We are new to pin trading too, although I cannot get to grips with the trading part yet! I keep buying pins I like and don't want to trade!! Which I don't think is the idea LOL. This is a lovely forum site with really good people who are fun and informative.

Hi, Atom, and welcome!

We're headed to Star Wars Weekends, too! What's your battle plan? Have you ever been before? Will you line up at the gates at 6 am like I'm hearing is recommended??? Little wigged out by that, not gonna lie! But super psyched to experience SWW for the first time!

We're glad you're here, and can't wait to hear more about your plans!

Hi Nancy and thanks for the welcome.

Wow...6am? I saw HS opens at 8 that day, so was going to be there at 7:30. I've never been to SWW so not exactly sure what to expect. I'm definitely interested in picking up some of the new merchandise, checking out any SW exhibits they may have, and riding the heck out of Star Tours. I don't know which actors are going to be there that day, so that may also be on my list. I'm only planning a half day at Hollywood Studios, then going over to Epcot to check out the Flower and Garden Festival stuff.

Yeah, I did a search recently for any and all SWW info I could get my hands on...can't remember who, but someone said that you needed to get there super early...6 am early, in order to get the fast passes for autographs. Also read that, unless you're interested in limited edition merch, save your trip to Darth's Mall til the end of your visit...otherwise you'll lose a lot of time that's better spent riding star tours ad nauseum! Smile can't wait to hear how your trip pans out!!
