Hello WDW Forum!

Hi, my name is Don and I've been viewing this site (but not the forums) for a few months now. Just noticed the forums today so I thought I would join in. My girlfriend and I are leaving for Disney tomorrow (4/12) and can hardly wait. She has been to WDW numerous times, while I have been only once. She has gotten me hooked on all things Disney and now I can't get enough. Our first visit there together was exactly one year ago, and we plan on going at least once a year for as long as we can. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here and keeping up with all the best of WDW!

Hi and welcome. I wish I was going tomorrow - the weather here has been awful! Is there anything you didn't get to do on your first trip that you are looking forward to trying? Do you have plans for every day, or just going to "go with the flow"?

Have a wonderful trip.

Thank you all for the welcome!

We are staying at the Caribbean Beach - same as last year. We really did like it there, but maybe next time we will try a different resort. The trip will be 9 days total. I'm most looking forward to a few things we didn't get to do last year. Test Track is one. Last year we arrived on a Saturday, almost rode Test Track but decided to wait till later in the week. The next day, it was shut down for refurbishments. lol So this year, we get to try the all new one. Also, Thunder Mountain Railroad was closed last year, so it will be my first ride on it. And it will be my first time to see the New Fantasyland. As for other rides, I love the Tower of Terror, Rock N Roller Coaster, Everest, Soarin' among others.

I tried in vain to get reservations for Be Our Guest, but I will check for cancellations while there. Some new places for us that I'm looking forward to: Boma at AKL, Wave of American Flavors at the Contemporary, Cape May Cafe breakfast. We are doing 2 restaurants that we did before: Tony's Town Square (our favorite for purely sentimental reasons) and The Tusker House breakfast.

We are trying PhotoPass+ for the first time, so I hope to have some good pics, plus I'm sure we will be taking plenty ourselves, as I am fond of photography.

The other thing that I am looking forward to most is noticing many of the small details that I missed last time. I've read the WD biography since last visit and am just fascinated by his life. I want to take a more relaxed pace and take it all in!

welcome Don. As you can see we are friendly bunch and enjoy talking about our passion - Disney. If you can't get dinner reservations for BOG try for lunch (quick serve). You don't need lunch reservations but I know you will have to wait in line because people start lining up around 10:00 a.m. Have a great time and let us know all about it in a trip report.

We stayed at the CBR two trips in a row as well and both times in Jamaica. We definitely enjoyed it. Did you request a particular building?

Thanks for the welcome! We stayed in Barbados last time and liked it as we were very close to the bus stop. A bit far from the food court though. I requested Martinique or Aruba this time. Will have to see what's available when we get there tonight.

Thanks! Looked at the weather forecast for Orlando, and it's going to be a bit on the warm side this time it looks like. Mid to upper 80's. It was a little cooler last year at this time. Oh well, we will find stuff to do indoors during the hottest part of the days. Smile

We're so excited you found the forum so you could join our merry band of Disneyholics! Smile

Great recommendation from PirateGirl on the BOG lunch...you'll get the ambiance and the experience without the res! I hope you're having a wonderful time, and will write us a report when you get back and/or share some of those wonderful photos you'll be getting!

Welcome to WDWFG and Kudos to your GF for getting you hooked on "The Disney"! Smile

Thanks so much for that recommendation! We did get in line one day at about 10 and got in right as they opened. One great thing about being there when they open the doors is that a good portion of the staff come outside and welcome in all the guests with a round of applause. Makes you feel like royalty!

The BOG experience was possibly the highlight of our trip. And the chocolate cupcake is to die for!

Know I'm a bit late but welcome here, they are a nice, knowledgeable group of people (I am still fairly new too). Glad you had such a good trip and look forward to reading more.

I think that this is going to be our strategy for Be Our Guest. No real breakfast to speak of (maybe something in room) and an early lunch at BOG. I can hop in line at 10, and the kids can check stuff out. Hrmmm... I can't decide if the whole family needs to stand in line or not. I'm so excited about this!

Can't wait can't wait can't wait!! I was pretty sure queueing up around 10ish was the way to go, but Revinator, you just completely sold me! Thank you so much for coming back to let us know that tip!!! Smile
