Help With Cabin Planning!

So here's my quandry.....I've been on 5 Disney cruises - all on the Magic or Wonder and always booked a stateroom with a verandah. BuffaloBill and I are contemplating a 3 day cruise on the Dream for the day after Christmas. He's never been on a Disney cruise before (how is that possible you ask??!!). eek

Since it's peak season and only 3 days...should I skip the verandah and opt for a stateroom requiring fewer DVC points - maybe a category 10 or 11? waiting waiting waiting

What are your thoughts? confused

I love having a verandah, but I also hang out in my cabin a fair amount on a cruise. If you have the points I think you should go for it. mickey

A 10 or 11 might be okay, having the Magic Portholes seems like fun. Has he cruised at all before?

No Kristen - he hasn't cruised before. Shock

With only a 3 night stay and his first cruise, are you really planning on spending a ton of time in the room? If you are, I'd say go for the upgrade, but if you think you'll be out exploring more then IMO it's probably not worth it.

I agree with Kristen, for a first cruise show him the best side of DCL. mickey
I haven't done an inside cabin on the Dream but have done the ocean view and verandah cabins. I love early mornings on the verandah and also when we leave ports.

Yep mickey

Nothin' quite as nice as coffee or juice and croissants on the verandah first thing in the morning.

Go with a verandah definitely! Buffalo Bill deserves to do it right for his first time! wink

The only downside to getting a verandah room for a first cruise is....you set the expectations VERY high for all future cruises!! I learned this the hard way... laugh But there is nothing better than sitting out watching the waves go by. I say go for it!

That is true, it does set a high precedent. But what's that song say? "If you're gonna do it, do it right."
