Probably my life's dream is to work at Disney World first in music but as I get older I realize the young seem to have that all taken care of. However, I would love to retire and work part time in Disney.

Thank you all for the warm "Disney" greetings! I'll be back soon! mickey

Hi Michael,
Our oldest son is Michael.
I retired about 12 years ago but not at Disney. We do rent a room there (Pop Century) about 4 times a year. That's as close as we can come to living there.
Welcome aboard.
Joe

My family and I were in Disney last June and it was HOT! (Which I love!) The wife and kids never were there and this was their first time. Needless to say, the kids are all grown up and were really never into Disney as I am. Well, if I could do it again this year I would do it different!

As much as I love all of Disney I love the music most. Especially the orchestrations during the fireworks. Man, Epcot last year gave me tears. I would love to just melt into the woodwork and live on as long as the park existed.

Just plain ol Disney lover!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you still make it to the park regularly even if the kids aren't fans?

Welcome, Michael!

The music is truly incredible. I think that even though it's changed to become more contemporary as the years have gone on, Disney has a way with orchestration that tugs at my heartstrings. I still can't go to the American Adventure without tearing up, and Illuminations is just outstanding.

Illuminations is definitely a tear jerker for me as well.

Yes, I get asked to score films and have one coming up the weekend of August 6, 7, and 8. So far the films have been contest shorts and you only get 48 hours to complete and submit for prize. Last August we took first place and went on to international but the competition was awesome so we didn't place at all. But it was fun and I wrote my first Rag "Raggity End" the title of the movie and music. I could post a link to our first place from last August but let me double check the forum rules so as not to overstep boundaries.
My dream is to write as magical as the sounds I love and hear at Disney.

That sounds like an incredible job -- creative and suspenseful at the same time.

We have a pretty good group here on WDWFG and linking to other sites and media is allowed within good taste -- or so I've seen! Would love to see your first place.

Well, honestly it's my dream job while I am home in the evening and weekends. To be honest, during the workweek I am a supervisor for a maintenance crew at a local school district which pays the bills and offers full medical for my family. Soon, I hope to retire and work on my music full time! Wouldn't that be a dream (and for Disney World, yes?) mickey

I'll get the link up soon.

Eh, after reviewing the video, there may be a few words not appropriate for this forum. I don't know ... may be.

Hey Michael -- definitely use your best judgment on this one. Forum members are like family to us, and if anyone finds a certain link interesting, they're always welcome to post it. If you think the link might be offensive, you can always ask folks who are interested to send you a private message and you can send the link to them that way. biggrin

Hm, thanks for the suggestions. I really don't think it would offend anyone but there is one or two word that may be taken as vulgar. So, maybe seeing you are an administrator I could send the link to you for viewing and in-turn you can give your opinion?

That would be a fantastic dream job! I can't wait until you're posting for us that you're moving to Orlando wink
