To hop or not to hop that is the question

I haven't hopped since hopping was included in the price. We get 10 day tickets and never felt the need before. Now seeing this is going to be a blow out do all we can do trip do you think having the hopper will help? We'll be getting the tickets from my dh's work. Somewhere between 12-14% off rack rate, yea for discounts! So it's either going to be 10 day WP&M base or 10 day WP&M + hopping! THNX

Personally, I wouldn't do a trip without hopping, but I'm a "what do I feel like doing today" kind of person. The only thing I like doing in advance is ADRs. (I hate having to pick FP+s 60 days in advance.) If I go to a park and it's too crowded for my liking, I'll hop to a different park. AK and DHS are 1/2 day parks for me so I like being able to go to MK or Epcot afterwards.

However, if you're more of a "plan every minute of every day" kind of person. You may not need or want the Park Hopper.

Hopping is freedom! Imagine starting your day at DHS, taking a boat to EPCOT and ending your day with a grey goose slushie. Or spending the day at AK, and then spending the evening at MK to take advantage of the later closing. The possibilities are endless.

I like being able to go wherever the mood takes us, so we always got the parkhopper option.

Same as all above. I love the option to be able to go wherever we feel like, whenever we feel like it. However, if I had a longer trip planned I may not find it as necessary because I can always go back to the resort or do that park another day.

I'm a hopper... I often stay at the Dolphin and like the flexibility of going to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios the same day, especially since Epcot has so many dining options.

I also find that I really like spending the last few hours of the evening at Magic Kingdom. Usually, the wait times for the lines go down for splash, space, and thunder mountains and the mine train in the last hour or two before close. I also like hopping to Magic Kingdom at the end of the night to ride the roller coasters a few times in a row... I really love thunder mountain at night. muchlove mickey

And especially on my Animal Kingdom day, which usually closes by 8pm, that's 3 or 4 extra hours of park time, depending which park has extra magic hours, or depending on whether or not its the weekend.

hop. hop. hop. mickey

Another vote here for hopping! IMO, it doesn't make sense to do anything else. biggrin

I can't even imagine not having the hopping option. The freedom to go wherever you want on a whim is all part of a great Disney vacation IMO.

We've hit all 4 park in the same day on occasion. So much fun. Smile

Last year we did not get a hopper pass and we really missed it. If one park is to busy you can just hop to another. AK and HS are half day parks for us so we like to hit Epcot or MK at night. We will always hop from now on.

We love park hopping especially on short visits. The transfers can be a welcome break as well.
