For our upcoming October trip, we are staying one night at Art of Animation and then heading to BLT for the duration of our stay. We were also thinking about going to DTD to pick up our AP and TIW cards at Guest Relations instead of at a park. I'm just wondering, does this mean we'll get 3 Magic Bands? On my MDE it says I can customize our bands for Art of Animation and BLT.
We really don't want (or need) 3 bands. Once we recieve the first one at AOA, can we just use that one for AP and BLT?
I think Disney is still "testing" the magicbands. So they may not able at this point to transfer magicbands. I know they want magicbands to do that but I'm not sure if magicbands are at that point yet. The only thing I can tell you for sure is to call Disney and see what they say.
Spook yes, you should be able to use just the one magic band for your entire trip. We have several times although I have the entire color spectrum of bands and all are active and can be used. Now that does not mean that you might not have a problem of some sort, or you may be fine.

You should be able to use the bands interchangeably as long as they are linked to your account, but I will tell you from experience, take every magic band that you own with you to Florida!! When we had the issues with DH's MB, the only one that was linked properly to his account was a band from our first MB trip--the only band of his that I had left at home because "there was no way that we could possibly need that band."

My account shows three MBs each, one for each resort and one for AP. But The CMs claim they will all contain the same info. We shall see about that. I wonder if I can give an extra to someone else and they can enter he park an hour or two after I do? Seems odd.

Hubby and I had magic bands from Saratoga Springs last fall (a trip I didn't get to take but he did) when we stayed at Pop Century in April. We had not customized new magic bands for the April trip. When we arrived, they had two boring gray bands waiting at the desk for us, but we were already wearing our lovely blue (mine) and green (hubby's) bands. All they had to do was take our older bands, code them to our Pop Century rooms, and we were good to go. We didn't even need to take those gray bands.

I just found out that I could use my AP band to open my room and for the FP+ experience. I deactivated several bands on my MDE account. We have 15 total bands, we kept my AP and the current two active. Now I know that we can deactivate the rest and just keep 3 in rotation. I think eventually Disney will give us the option to say no to new bands and then we'll be able to reuse the current bands.

Our lovely pink and green ones came yesterday and the ME today. I doubt I would throw it out anyway, so will just keep it for the next trip.
