I need ADR advice!

I can make my ADRs on Saturday!! Woohoo!! I'm going down in October by myself for the Tower of Terror 10 miler. I have to be careful about what I eat before the race, but still, it's Disney and I'm looking forward to some good food. My thoughts are:

Thursday: Arrive into Orlando around 4:45pm. DME, check in, followed by walking around Epcot and grazing at the F&W fest.

Friday: At AK as soon as it opens to hopefully see some animals!! Lunch at Yak and Yeti, then off to the ToT Expo. Afternoon/evening at MK. Will probably do counter service, depending on how I'm feeling - OR in your opinion, is it worth trying to fight for reservations at BOG? Reviews seem to be mixed and other then the french onion soup and the "grey stuff" I'm not really excited about the menu, but I'm thinking the experience might be worth it (in which case I'd skip Yak and Yeti).

Saturday: Okay, this is where I get stuck. I have to be VERY careful about what I eat (this is why I so much prefer to run in the morning, get it done, and then enjoy food for the rest of the day). I'm thinking MK for rope drop and then Crystal Palace b/c it has pasta and other similar things on the menu. But I'm not a huge fan of Pooh, which is the character at the meal. Any suggestions for character meals that have a menu with stomach friendly items, such as pastas, rices, etc? I'll try some other things as well, but those need to by my main staple.

Sunday: Depending on how late I stay at the after party, sleep in, maybe some pool, then more Epcot for grazing, MK, or whatever mood strikes me!

Thoughts?? This is my first trip making ADRs, so I'm probably overthinking it.

The race is at night, yes? This is a pretty informative blog post. http://trimarni.blogspot.com/2012/12/how-to-fuel-for-night-race.html

The BOG experience is GREAT! The food is not our favorite, but it wasn't bad. It's just not a menu that we enjoy. Personally, I would stick with Yak & Yeti. But I feel that I am in the minority on this.

Have you been to Yak & Yeti before? If not, I'd definitely give it a try...we absolutely loved it. Probably our favorite meal our whole trip. If you have eaten there I would forgo it for a BOG reservation just for a new experience.

Thanks everyone! I've never done any ADRs at Disney, other than breakfast at O'hana (every year) and the Luau. I usually travel with my BFF's family who has adopted me as one of their own, so I just go w/the flow (you know how it is getting 20 people to agree on something, particularly when it comes to food!). I've decided to go Y&Y, that kobe burger and the wontons look too good to pass up. I'm going to throw it out to fate and try for a BOG ressie for the Sunday night. If not, there's PLENTY of food, I know I won't go hungry!! Thanks to Taratru's great advice, I'm going to skip the character breakfast on race day. Although there will be many hours between lunch and the start, I know I'll end up overeating at a buffet and that just won't end well!!

I've also decided, since I'm traveling solo and can do what I want, this is the trip I'm giving Jellyrolls a go!! So that's the new plan for arrival night, since I get in early evening. Now I just need to wait until tomorrow to try to book!

So I got up extra early this morning to make my ADRs. I sat on hold FOREVER. Finally had to leave to meet up with my running group, so I gave up and totally forgot about it. As I'm sitting here on the couch icing my knee, I remembered to call, figuring BOG would be booked, but I could at least try for Y&Y. And I ended up getting BOTH!! I suppose being a party of 1 makes it easier to slide in, but I'm super excited!! Good run, got my ADRs, now I just need my Capitals to win tomorrow night and this might be the best weekend of the year so far!!
