If you could "do it all over again..."

...would you get married in Disney World? We just have a few decisions to make around here, and I figured I'd put the question to you guys. mickey

In a heartbeat. We had a simple ceremony anyway, it wouldn't have taken much more effort to have done it at Disney World. (Plus, we went the year before AND the year after, so its not like we wouldn't have been there anyway)

Only thing I can say is that I know a lot more about WDW nearly 20 years later, so back then it might have been more difficult to arrange, but if I was going through it now there would be no question we'd do that.

Yes! It was not financially feasible for us to do it this year (having people travel would mean no one would come and ours will be big thanks to lots of family).

If I could start all over, we would have it there though

You guys can say your vows in front of the castle on your honeymoon and pretend!

I'm not sure we'd do it or not. I'll let you know how the vow renewal goes!

To me where the wedding happens isn't nearly as important as where the honeymoon happens. Although destination weddings can be really fun for the guests. Getting all your friends and family together in Disney World could be a real hoot.

Hi,

A man and woman who met on the Disboards got married in WDW. I probably wouldn't do it, if only because I have never been married and at this point don't believe I ever will be.

My reply to that would also be "In a heartbeat!". I can't think of a better place to spend what should be the happiest day of your life, but at the "Happiest place on earth".
I would still love to renew our vows there, and I know Scrappy would to, but it's just way to expensive.

Did you ever do the vow renewal SpaceAce?

I pushed for the Disney wedding in the first place, but it just wasn't practical. At least we spent half our honeymoon there -- and that was fantastic!

To quote an old phrase...IN A NEW YORK MINUTE!!! We spent our honeymoon there...Donna had never been before. If we were planning it now, we would figure out a way to have the same simple ceremony we had at home.

We are, however, at least I am, planning on having some kind of vow renewal there when we go in 2013...

Thank you for your thoughts, everyone! It's so cool to hear such enthusiasm for saying vows at the happiest place on earth! As it turned out, we weren't able to do so, but we might have a second honeymoon there soon. mickey

We did a "mini" vow renewal! We went to the Observation Deck at the Contemporary at sunset and repeated our vows to one another. Someone nearby realized what we were doing and offered to take a photo.

It was quiet and small, but it still meant a lot to us. mickey

I wouldn't want to get married there but...I would love to be proposed to there! (too bad CJ doesn't read at this forum, LOL)

Proposal and honeymoon in WDW would be perfect!

LOL - he stopped bothering with his Disney blog once he got his Mustang. Now all he does is blog in that blog sarcastic

He knows - we've been together almost 6 years and have kids together, a mortgage, ya know the whole shebang - but we've both been married before so he is kinda like, this works, why bother getting married. I kinda agree - won't make our relationship any MORE than it is - I just want the ring and the hoopla, LOL

He got a mustang, eh? When was that? What kind?

You could always do some sort of "commitment ceremony" at Disney... ;-D

Even though he has a new girlfriend, he clearly still loves you quite a lot:
