I think the tickers do it on purpose to manage our expectations. That way when we realize we're MUCH closer than our ticker says, we get EXCITED!!

And YEAH for Mickey Mail!

I changed my ticker also. Hope this one stays accurate.

The day after the Mickey Mail arrived we were invited to test the My Magic+ and the magic bands. Got that all set up along with a bunch of FastPass+ reservations, including Toy Story Mania on three different days and the final day for Lights Motors Action before they close for refurbishment (or close forever, although the WDW website says refurbishment).

Single digit day!!!!

So here's our final itinerary, which of course might be revised once we arrive at WDW. Because I am now officially unemployed and have been for over a month, we cancelled about half of our ADRs to save a little money. But we kept the best ones.

Arrival day will begin with the Magical Express ride to Saratoga Springs, dinner at Earl of Sandwich, and if we have enough time a visit to Disney Quest.

Sunday we'll start at Epcot, eat counter-service fare around the World Showcase (making our own little Food and Wine Festival since we'll miss the real thing), then park-hop to Hollywood Studios for evening Extra Magic Hours. Our FastPass+ reservations are all at DHS - Lights! Motors! Action! for the final show before it closes; Toy Story Mania; and Fantasmic.

Monday begins with breakfast at Cape May Cafe, then it's on to DHS, once again with a FastPass+ for Toy Story Mania, American Idol, and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (which I won't actually ride due to my tendency to lose my lunch on extreme thrill rides). We'll skip lunch since breakfast will likely hold us till dinner. Then we'll park-hop to Magic Kingdom for EEMH, get a counter-service dinner, and catch the evening parade and fireworks.

Tuesday is all MK. Our FastPass+ reservations are for Peter Pan's Flight, Enchanted Tales with Belle, and the new Little Mermaid ride - gotta see these new attractions that weren't open on our last trip. Lunch will be counter service (we'll decide where on the spur of the moment). Then we'll leave before closing for an ADR at Ohana, hopefully timed so we can see the MK fireworks from our table.

Wednesday is Animal Kingdom day, with FastPass+ reservations for Kilimanjaro Safaris, Festival of the Lion King, and Finding Nemo: The Musical. We didn't bother with Expedition Everest because I can't ride it and hubby usually breezes through in the single rider line. Lunch will be counter service, again choosing where to eat in the moment. We'll catch the parade (hubby's favorite), then when we've done everything park-hop to Epcot for more World Showcase counter service fare and to see Illuminations.

Thursday we'll start at DHS with FastPass+ reservations for Toy Story Mania (I LOVE that ride!), the Great Movie Ride, and Muppetvision 3D (this one is just after park opening so if we sleep late we'll miss it). After the last FastPass+ has been used, the current plan is to head for MK and a counter-service lunch, but we might switch it up for Epcot and more World Showcase food. We'll get to MK eventually and finish the day there, then hop a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner at Boma.

Friday's plans have us back at DHS in the morning, but without FastPass+ reservations, so we'll have to arrive early and head straight for Toy Story Mania to get in the standby line before it's huge. Afternoon will see us back at MK, then we'll head to Epcot for EEMH, still more World Showcase delicacies, and FastPass+ reservations for Test Track, Spaceship Earth, and Soarin' (that last one for hubby alone since I can't handle it).

Saturday we check out, head to Epcot for a few extra hours with FastPass+ reservations for Test Track again, Turtle Talk, and Mission: Space (probably just for hubby, I'm not sure whether I could handle even the tame version). Lunch will be still more World Showcase counter-service, and hopefully by Saturday we will have sampled something from every pavilion around the lagoon. Then sometime in the early to mid-afternoon we'll bus back to Saratoga Springs to catch the Magical Express back to the airport.

What time do you think you'll head over to DHS on Sunday? My mom and I have an ADR at Biergarten. Maybe we can meet up there before dinner.

Our FastPass+ for Lights! Motors! Action! has us arriving at 3:40, give or take. So we'll probably leave Epcot around 2:45 to make sure we arrive in time. So if you'll be at Epcot all day, we can meet any time before, say, 2:30.

I doubt they would offer FastPass+ if the ride weren't scheduled to reopen by then. So, barring complications, we should be fine.

That may work. My friends are arriving that day. I can't remember what time their flight arrives. I'll let you know.

We're sneaking down for a fun weekend. Perhaps I can meet up with you again. I get in around 11am and I'm totally winging it until MVMCP starts Friday night.

That would be great, Dee! We'll be at MK Friday afternoon, so if you're going to be there before MVMCP we could meet there. Then we're doing Epcot Saturday morning/early afternoon. I understand your DW will have arrived by then and if our schedules synch we'd be pleased to meet her.

I still have your cell number in my phone, so getting in touch after you arrive should be easy enough.

she's going to fly in late Friday but isn't going to MVMCP. I'll have to switch our FP+ i'm sure she'll want to go to Epcot on Saturday, it's her favorite place.

We have a Test Track FastPass+ window starting at 10:25 Saturday morning. If you want to FP+ Test Track and can get roughly the same time frame we could even ride together. We also have a Turtle Talk FP+ window starting at 12:05 and a Mission Space FP+ window starting at 9:20, but we might not make Mission Space since it's so early.

Even if our FP+ reservations don't synch, no problem, we can meet up someplace else. I think we'll need to leave around 2:00 to catch ME back to the airport, but any time before that would work.

Ok, still trying to figure out the schedule. We have an ADR at CRT on Tuesday @ 6:40. If you will be at MK, how about meeting there before my ADR. I'd like to see the flag retreat @ 5:00. How about around that time?

Well, darn it, looks like I won't be meeting anyone.

One of our cats had to make a sudden trip to the emergency vet, and now somebody needs to keep a close watch on her while we wait for the test results, give her meds and TLC, etc. Since hubby missed our 2011 Disney trip due to work issues, I figured it was only fair to let him go without me this time around.

So, Dee, JoAnn, and everyone else who's going to be there this week, have a great time and think of me. And Dee, you met my hubby last year, so if you run into him, say hello! I'll tell him to do the same.

Hubby says we'll have to plan a trip for next spring to make up for my missing this one. So...expect my next trip planning report in the not too distant future.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. Oreo (the cat) is doing all right. She's eating and seems comfortable, but she does come around crying and meowing more often than usual. The problem is either her thyroid is enlarged or she has a mass of some kind on it. Test results won't be back till early next week, so we have no idea whether this is something fairly common and benign or, well, you all know what the other option would be where a tumor is concerned.

Hubby kept all our ADRs, although we phoned to change them from two people to just one. We couldn't change the Ohana reservation, since they don't accept reservations for fewer than two, but the woman I spoke with over the phone said don't worry, he should just show up and tell them I couldn't make it. She said they wouldn't charge us the no-show fee for me, so we figure the worst options are (1) they do charge me the no-show fee, but hubby gets to enjoy Ohana or (2) they won't seat him.

He also kept all his FastPass+ reservations, but I cancelled all of mine so someone else could use them.

As for the future, I already have two Ohana reservations for different weeks in April. When we decide which week we'll go, I'll cancel the extra. And frankly, I'm thinking about doing the same thing for other nights in both weeks. So for me, the magic hasn't been cancelled, it's just been moved back a few months.

Here the sick kitty. The photo was taken at the emergency vet yesterday.

The two weeks we're currently looking at are March 29-April 5 and April 5-12. I'd prefer the second week, but it will ultimately depend on when we can get an RCI timeshare exchange. It we can get the week you'll be there, we will. I hope it works out!
