Jan Trip - Dining suggestions needed

Haven't been on in a while - was working far too much and lots of other issues, but with in 2 days of each other, I booked my January vacation *and* got a new job so I am having a fabulous weekend!!!

This means I have just 1 week to plan out my ADR's for the 180 day mark... not that I haven't been thinking about it forever!

What time do you think I should make reservations at Whispering Canyon and Kona Cafe for dinner in order to be back in MK for Wishes? I think they are at 8 each night in Jan. Would 5:30 be enough time?

Here's what I have so far:

Friday - Be Our Guest (Fingers crossed!!)
Saturday - Check out Art of Animation and have dinner there
Sunday - Whispering Canyon
Monday - Cape May
Tuesday - Tutto Gusto
Wed - Captains Grill and then Jellyrolls
Thursday - Raglan Road
Friday - Rose and Crown (Hoping to get seated outside for Illuminations!)
Saturday - Kona Cafe
Sunday - ADR for Lunch (haven't decided - suggestions needed!)

Congratulations on booking your trip and your new job!!!

Sounds like a great plan. I haven't eaten at Whispering Canyon yet (will be in November) and have only had breakfast at Kona Cafe. I'm not sure how long dinner will take there. Sounds like it would give you enough time. I, personally, would try to 5:00 to have an added buffer for the unexpected.

Have you thought about watching Wishes from the beach at the Poly after your dinner at Kona Cafe?

Thanks JoAnn - I am SO excited about everything!!! Such a good feeling all around mickey

I was thinking about watching from the Poly, but we kinda have a tradition of watching the fireworks from the smoking section right in front of Caseys (by the seating area with the yellow umbrellas, can't remember what it's called) on out last night.... Good way to say good bye to the world Smile

I agree with the 5pm time. Sometimes there's a wait at Kona and then the stop at GF on the monorail if there's a wheelchair needing to board it can be time consuming.
Have a great trip,
Dee

Just take the boat from the Poly marina dock, thats real easy and usually never crowded. It goes right from the Poly to the MK. No need to walk to the TTC.

THANKS so much everyone!! Made the ADR's yesterday -

Friday - Les Chefs de France -REALLY hoping to switch this to Be Our Guest when it opens!!
Saturday - Going to AK after the afternoon nap, the hopping over to AoA to check it out and have dinner there
Sunday - Whispering Canyon Cafe - DH's favorite, ADR for 5 so should be back in time for Wishes and EMH
Monday - Cape May Cafe - ADR for 8, hoping to boat over after HS closes
Tuesday - Tutto Italia
Wednesday - Captain's Grille - then over to Boardwalk for Minigolf and Jellyrolls
Thursday - Raglan Road
Friday - Rose & Crown - Hoping to get good seats for the fireworks
Saturday - Kona Cafe - 5:00 p.m. then over to last Wishes of the trip
Sunday - The Wave - Lunch ADR since we'll have an extra credit, but this may change because I don't think DH is interested, but we can do EP or MK before out flight home

5 new places for us (We'd done Chefs, Whispering Canyon, Raglan Road and Kona before)

We've only gone in the summer before, so we had been used to the late closing times, but I'm hoping to get more done during the day this time as I won't be melting in the heat.
