We are also contemplating booking a return trip before we check out to save the 35%, and if we do, it will be for the Boardwalk (see Kristen, we are now officially resort snobs, lol). Looking at end of January, first of February, which is our usual time of year to come here.

Nice! We will be there the end of January too. We are going the last week Jan 25 - Feb 1. That's is a great week.

Those bounce back offers are the best. What is the bounce back offer now? We were hoping for a new one when we went in July but it was the same one they had when we were in there in January. We are already booked at the Poly January 25- February 1 although we are booked at the full rate at the moment. We go that week every year and it is actually our favorite time to go as far as the weather goes.

This is the first I'm hearing about bounce back offers. How do you find out about them?

Right now, it's 35% off select deluxe resorts for several dates in 2014. The week you are booked is included and we would book that week or the next one. That is the week we were at Disney this past January and the weather was perfect - no humidity at all.

Kris, there is always an offer in the information that is in your room. They've changed how it looks and it's now called the "Be Our Guest Guide". It includes info about all the parks and in the middle has the bounce back offers with the dates that are included. 30% off select moderate resorts and 35% off select deluxe resorts and villas. The only stipulation is that you book before you check out. With these offers, you can't get the free dining, which suits Ken and I just fine. mickey

So, MK closed at 7 pm tonight and no Wishes. Same thing tomorrow night. I notice that there is a lot of light coming from the park and is literally lighting up the sky. More than usual.

I wonder what they're doing???

Sounds like the not so scary Halloween party has begun.

I might just be able to handle the September heat in order to go when crowd levels are that low. JanJ & KenJ, you are from southern Ontario, correct? Guelph if I remember. How does the heat & humidity compare? Similar to Guelph in July/August? (I was from Brantford)

Thanks for trying to get the storm but that shot towards MK is fantastic. Stunning. Can't be MNSSHP as it doesn't start until the 10th maybe it's a run through ( or should that be gallop through Wink. )

Hi Courtney - yes, we're from Guelph, but this humidity doesn't compare to our regular summer heat. It does feel like those few days in July when we hit over 40 degrees with the humidity - you sweat just standing there! But I would come again at this time as I do enjoy the heat and the low crowds make it all worth while.

Day 8

Well, it's our last full day here at Disney World. sad

We're having breakfast at The Captain's Grille and have no other plans after that. We may end up at any or all parks today. biggrin

We're scheduled to be on the Magical Express back to the airport tomorrow at 10:15 am so we realistically won't be doing anything tomorrow.

The weather is rather gloomy this morning (fitting for our last day I guess). Don't worry Eeyore, I heard the weather at Coronado Springs is really nice this morning for your parents' arrival. awesome

The good thing is that we will most likely be booking our next visit today so we'll have another countdown timer going! LOL.

Here's a couple of shots from our balcony I took just now.

Have a great last day. The best way to enjoy your last day is to book your return trip. If you end up booking the same week we are booked we will have to get together for a drink. Heck why not consider booking at the Poly and we can be neighbors.

Enjoy your last day! What a lovely look into what's going on down there you've given us. I've really enjoyed all the pics and info, and love how empty the park has been for you. How exciting to book your next trip today!

Ken and Jan enjoy your last day. I may look into the bounce back offer while I am there. I want to go myself sometime and why not next year!

Thanks everyone! The day has been bitter sweet and I have an update on the bounce back booking. It was a no go right now since they're only offering specials for August & September next year. I was reading the info wrong and realized when I was on the phone that the dates are only for 2013. So we will book for January/February but will wait until the 30% off room deal comes out this month or next. Bummer. sad

Here are some pics from today, our last day here.

We had breakfast at the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. Then we explored the quiet pool area of the Boardwalk Inn. This is a really nice, quiet spot for sure and very scenic too.

Then some random pics from inside the Boardwalk Inn

That's our door way at the end of the hallway.

We then went over to Epcot and walked around World Showcase.

This is in front of Morocco and I'm guessing it might be a restaurant or something?

More pics of World Showcase.

And as MrHub suggested, I did have another beer! Smile

Then to Norway and "Back...back over the falls!".

We cooled off in the Mexico pavilion. I still think this is one of most visually stunning places at WDW.

We started walking towards The Land and a feathered friend joined us.

Yes, yes we did it. Never saw this before so we figured why not?

More pics from Epcot.

We then took the boat over to Hollywood Studios for a quick visit then walked back. This photo is from our walk.

We got back to the resort and found the room lock wasn't working. So we went to the front desk where they told us the batteries must be dead and would be replaced. These were some colorful balloons at the check-in area.

Well, as the sun sets at the Boardwalk, so ends our vacation at WDW. We've had a great time and look forward to coming back already!

Tomorrow will consist of packing up and getting on the Magical Express back to MCO, then back to YYZ and home.

Once we get settled in at home, I'll go over all the photos I took and may post some more. I took over 700 photos and obviously couldn't post all of them. LOL. We'll also most likely post a write up of our thoughts of the trip. What we liked, didn't like etc. One thing we discovered is that September is hot and humid, but the crowds are very minimal.

Anyway, thanks for taking the interest in our trip and photos etc. It's been a lot of fun! clapping
