Jeff and Joe's September pre-trip trip report!

Krystal inspired me today to do a Pre-trip trip report! Woo hoo!!

Joe and I are heading to the World from September 15 - September 22. Our original plans had us flying out of SFO (San Francisco) on the afternoon of the 14th and getting at 10:30 PM local time. We were going to stay off property that first night and then head over to the Beach Club on the 15th for check in.

But now we'll be flying out of MSP (Minneapolis/St. Paul), and have an early flight out at 8:00 am CT that gets us to Orlando around Noon local time. So we scrapped the off-property hotel night and re-arranged our schedule a bit.

We were lucky to get the free dining plan, and our ADRs are as follows:

Sunday: via Napoli for dinner
Monday: Sci Fi Dine In for lunch
Tuesday: The Wave for dinner
Wednesday: Yak and Yeti for lunch
Thursday: BOG for dinner
Friday: Cape May Clam Bake for dinner
Saturday: Mama Melrose for lunch

Counter service will be whatever strikes us on any given day. But you can count on Cosmic Ray's at least once Smile

We have tickets for MNSSHP on Tuesday, the 17th; Disney Floral is on tap for a special in-room surprise for the hubby on Monday (this is the make-up from the oopsie in 2012 - really looking forward to seeing what they do!); and I turn 50 on Thursday the 19th at the most magical place on Earth!

We all know I am a bit impatient and have a thousand tricks up my sleeve for passing the time during the last 60 days; but this time I think I went a little too far. We kinda bought a small hobby farm in southern MN last weekend and are in the process of moving from northern CA. The big moving truck will be here next Monday, and we hit the road for the 3-day drive next Tuesday. silly

Which explains why we are now flying out of Minneapolis and not San Francisco. By the time we get all moved and unpacked and settled it will be time to go to Disney!! See how that works??

Now back to packing....

You are brave and hardy souls! Moving twice in a year, plus enduring Minnesota winters - Brrrrr! (I grew up in NW Ontario, just north of Duluth, so I know how cold it gets.)

I can't wait to hear about the move, your farm, and the trip. You'll have a lot of reporting to do! laugh

Great trip planned. Also, cool farm! How much time will you spend between MN and CA? Or, are you moving perm. to MN?

California to Minnesota - how exciting (and brrrr, it will be fun in the winter)! After all the business of moving you really NEED to head to Disney for a break!
Do you ever, ever rest??

Wow, moving again. You're as bad as my brother (must be something with the name Jeff C.)

Good luck with the move. I want to hear more about this farm.

Wow. Most people take up something like coin collecting or scrapbooking for a hobby, but you went all in with a farm!!! That's actually quite cool. Good luck with the move!

Thanks everyone! For those interested in how this came about, Joe posted about it over on his foodie blog, and it's easier to send you over there than re-type it here Smile Hopefully that answers some of the why.

Sally-Ann: the plan for our little 7 acres is maybe some chickens and vegetables. And maybe a few cows at some point. I want goats and a horse, but baby steps.

finngirl: this will be our third move to Minnesota. We clearly have serious issues... eek

Eeyore: this will be a permanent move to MN.

Robyn: Wow, what a coincidence!!! We will toast you and your anniversary as well! And I still hope we can meet up on the 17th Smile

Belinda: Apparently no, we don't! I kepe telling Joe I am getting to old for this, but here we are again! And we just moved into this apartment 3 months ago.

mimi: thanks so much!!

Allie: Yes! Can you believe it? I found my old driver's license from the last time we lived there in 2010. And our old license plates. I wonder if they wanted those back....?

PirateGirl: I think I tossed out my winter woolies 3 moves ago..."Like we'll ever move back to Minnesota! Hahahah! That's a good one"...... sarcastic

Kris: AND WE HAVE A WINNER OF THE BAD PUN AWARD FOR THIS THREAD!! laugh We do love SF, and will be sad to go, but we think the reasons for moving make sense.

Zz: I tried to convince Joe that our trip to MN 2 weeks ago constituted our honeymoon. I just was allowed back inside the partment to sleep, so I shall mind my p's and q's from here on out.

MM: SURPRISE! laugh Our friends and family are pretty used to these kinds of things now. Nobody writes our address in pen anymore....I have taken over the C's, D's and E's in all their address books.

JoAnn C: It *must* be the name! Maybe Jeff translates into free spiritied wanderer in some dialect!

JMUDukz: THat woudl be waaay too conventional and normal....

Spook: I haven't decided yet. We were at the Disney store this afternoon and saw a kid's pirate outfit with a plastic hook hand, but Joe said I was too immature to have it. I'll probably just wear my pirate ears. And maybe get an eyepatch. Last time we were there in Septemver for it, the weather was pretty hot and humid and I felt bad for people that were really dressed up. So we shall keep it light!

Just read Joe's blog. Those are some of the best reasons I've ever heard to move. You guys are truly wonderful, and I wish you nothing but happiness in your new adventure!

Jeff, I really enjoyed Joe's blog post. What an awesome move. Both of you must work in fields that allow lots of flexibility.

Looking forward to lots of posts from the farm....and think of the space you now have to Disneyfy! Joe, look out for a :Disney tree in every room.... mickey

I'm very sorry for Joe's loss. His Mom must be so pleased you are moving close by. It sounds like a move like this was always in the back of your mind though, so circumstances just changed the timing a bit. The new "homestead" looks lovely! I can't wait for updates and photos of a Disney Christmas in the new house.

Please give Joe my condolences and a bighug

I check Joe's blog every once in a while to see if he's posted anything new and I was just on there a few days before he posted the news.
