Jen and Jeff's Anniversary Pre-Trip Report!

HELLO!

We're leaving on the train to Orlando tomorrow and we are SO EXCITED! yay

Today I've been running around cleaning and getting a few errands done before my brother arrives this evening to cat sit for the upcoming week, but I finally got a minute to sit down and write this out.

Tomorrow we'll be getting on a train a little after noon, and our train gets into Orlando a little after 10am on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to the train ride. We're taking along a few snacks, sandwiches for dinner, and cereal bars for the next morning. I'm also going to take my laptop so we can watch movies, and Jeff got a dice roller app for his phone so we can do some mini Dungeons and Dragons games as well. There's no wifi on the train, but we'll survive somehow silly

So that will be the fun through tomorrow evening, then we get to Florida and are on our way to Pop Century! I requested a lake view in the 70s during online check in, but we'll be happy wherever because we'll be in DISNEY!! Here's a general idea of what we plan to do...

SATURDAY
Riding the train!

SUNDAY
Arrive at Pop Century and explore the grounds, including AoA
Stretch our muscles by heading out to do some mini golf and DisneyQuest, take a nice walk and explore DTD
Check into our room whenever it's ready
Monorail crawl! - We're planning to make stops at the Grand Floridian for a classy drink, then Contemporary for a cupcake, followed by the Poly for a tropical drink! If the weather is nice, we'll watch Wishes from the beach and catch the Water Parade. Then we'll make our way over to either DTD or Pop for dinner.

MONDAY - Magic Kingdom!
We'll probably spend a good portion of the day roaming the Kingdom, doing the rides, and seeing all there is to see.
Be Our Guest for lunch!
At some point, when we need a break, we're going to jump the boat over to explore Ft Wilderness
Electric Parade and Wishes int he evening, and dinner will be either DTD or Pop, whichever we didn't have before.

TUESDAY - Animal Kingdom/Hollywood Studios!
Won't decide which order we do these in until that day and how we feel.
Jeff found out that he can get a turkey leg at HS, so that will probably be lunch. muchlove
After doing both parks, we'll probably try Cooke's of Dublin for dinner.
Heading over to the Boardwalk at night to either Jellyrolls or the Bellevue Lounge, depending on our mood.

WEDNESDAY - Epcot
Spending most of the day exploring all there is at Epcot
Lunch and dinner will be wherever we happen to be around the showcase, though I may want to try Sunshine Seasons for dinner.
We're each going to try a margarita. I want the jalapeno, Jeff is still considering his.
We may take the boat to the Boardwalk or HS during the day if we feel like a break from Epcot.
Illuminations at night!

THURSDAY
We'll use this day to redo any parks we want to do visit again or attractions we had to skip the first time around.
MK at night for the parade and Wishes one last time!

FRIDAY
Breakfast (maybe a smoothie from AoA?)
Grab a to Go lunch for the train, meet the driver at the hotel front, and say good bye to warm Florida!
Train will arrive back in Philly on Sunday morning.

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. I'm so excited for you guys (especiallly considering how cold its been in Southeast PA this week! Are you catching the train at 30th street station? If so, where in Florida does it drop you off? We've only ever done the auto train from Lorton, VA.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, Kris, we're going from 30th and taking it all the way to the Orlando Amtrak Station! Our friend was just on the same train a few days ago to get to Savannah (which is one of the route stops) and he said the trip was fine.

Thanks. I look forward to hearing what you think of it. We love the auto train. There's just something romantic about train travel!

Hey guys, we had so much fun! I was dying to get on here and write about it day by day, but we were trying to stay as off grid and away from social media as possible. And of course we've both been fighting some wicked colds since returning home, but I hope to get started on the trip report tomorrow night!
