Its on the western part of Oahu, which should work out fine, since that area is far less developed than the eastern/Waikiki/Honolulu area.

Yeah I would be very unimpressed by anything near Honolulu or Waikiki. I'm actually pretty jazzed that American is now flying directly to Maui, so you don't have to waste time in Honolulu!
