Left or Right at Hollywood Studios?

Which path do you take when tackling Disney Hollywood Studios? I must admit that it annoys me to know end that I can't walk it all in a big circle. laugh I tend to start with The Great Movie Ride and then head to the left. It always seems a little chaotic to me though. What's your strategy for tackling this park?

Straight ahead to Toy Story Mania. Which I guess involves a left turn after you pass the hat and the Great Movie Ride. After that, I just wander.

Right to TSM 1st, followed by Rockin' Rollercoaster and ToT

I guess it's proof that DHS's layout is confusing when I think of TSM as straight ahead and then left, and Allie thinks of it as right.

Directly to TSM FP, then TSM standby line. After that, it's free-style.

I usually think straight ahead to Muppet 3D. That's where we like to start first then decide which direction.

Haha I guess it is more straight, but I think of it as off to right side of the park. I guess ToT and RRR are more right then TSM, though. Very confusing!

Directly (see, I avoid saying whether it's right or left - Ha!) to TSM for fastpasses, while Peter hustles right over to TT. He's usually able to ride at least twice before I get there, and then we head back to "central" HS. Great Movie Ride, then TSM, then Star Tours. After that, we just amble around and ride what we feel like.

I don't know if it's just me, but I always seem to get turned around in HS. I'm usually the one that knows where we are and where we're going, but my navigational skills seem lacking here. Way too many dead ends!

We usually head straight for Toy Story Mania. Then its Disney Junior Live on Stage and Voyage of the Little Mermaid. By that time we hit A Great Movie Ride then lunch. Then we start on the left side of the park with Muppets and Star Tours. We try to do ToT later in the afternoon and have found the wait to not be very long then; sometimes only 5 to 10 mins. A lot of the shows end at 7 pm so we make sure we have seen what we want before then. And of course we end our evening with Fantasmic!

From the Hat towards the right to TSM, then around the back to Muppets, Phineas and Ferb, Star Tours, then cut through the commissary towards TGMR, RnRC and ToT.
Then drinks at the 50's or a late lunch at the 50's.
I basically rip through DHS then head to another park unless I'm watching Fantasmic. I really hope they bring carsland to DHS it might make it a full day park for me.

I usually have excellent navigation skills. I could find my way around the other three parks sans map after just one visit. But at DSH, heck, I still have to peek around a corner or two before I'm sure how to get to the Muppets theater or Pizza Planet.

To the left to The Writer's Stop for a fancy coffee and then sit outside and watch the people walk by singing the theme songs to ABC shows. Free entertainment hahaha

laugh Very confusing! I think that TSM is to the right as well. A right and then a quick left. To me, GMR is the "center" point where you need to turn one way or the other.

Depends on the day for us. If early. TSM. If later and no hope for TSM. Left to Star Tours till we puke.

We always go right to ToT and RNRC. Then we head to TSMM and then wherever we feel like after that. We spend a lot of time at ToT & RNRC though. My girls love them.

Straight and then bear right-ish to get TSM FPs, then backwards to RnRC and TOT. Then, after TSM, I get lost in the facades trying to find Star Tours... confused

Is it sad that I had to look at a Hollywood Studios map in order to answer this question?

It turns out that I go left towards Indiana Jones then walk in a roughly clockwise circle around the park.
Last year was the first year I went down "Sunset Boulevard" towards TT and RRC. It turns out I had always missed that path as it's a dead end and not part of the circular path I tend to walk! I always get lost in that park, good thing hubby is amazing with directions (although he doesn't like thrill rides, hence missing "Sunset Boulevard" for 4 YEARS!!)

MicRac - I think we have the same Park Domination Strategy! That's exactly what I'm doing at this phase in my life!

Usually, we head to ToT and RR because my kids were older. This year, I'm thinking of using the itinerary above with my toddler. I will probably go back to the hotel, unless he is napping and then I would stay and let my DD18 ride whatever she wants to with me cheering her on. waiting I don't do the "intense" rides.

Question for MicRac: About what time are you starting out and when do you usually eat lunch? I am trying to schedule a character lunch at H & V for my grandson.
