I wasn't able to go out to the post-Christmas Day sales today, but Joe was sweet enough to go try and find a few things for me. Here's what he picked up on sale for our collection!

This makes me happy Smile

I suspect that Joe is not the Disney Scrooge that we all pretend he is! I hope you're feeling better, and I especially love Mickey and the snowmen!

Jeff,

Love your village, but you're missing the a very important building for any small town - the firehouse! Smile Looks like you need to get the Donald firehouse. If not, what will you do in case of fire? Smile

BTW, many of these Department 56 stuff are on sale (at least they were on Christmas eve) at Sears and Menards.

GAH! Safety first - we must get!

Thanks for the head's up on the sales - I might try and convince Joe to take me to Sears. I love the wreath clock on this one yay

So, when does everyone take down their holiday decor? I would love to take mine down today, but honestly I'm just to lazy. It will probably be gone by the end of the week though.

Ours will come down tomorrow as we're all back to work the following day.

Ours is coming down as soon as I get to the store and get some rubbermaid containers to hold the tree and decorations our boxes broke this year when we were putting everything up. Today we are having 30 to 40 mph winds so I am not going anywhere.

We had to take it down today..I was SO sad to do it. I go back tomorrow and don't want to have to worry about doing it next weekend. Dave is off tomorrow and going to take the lights down then. I forget how stinking HAPPY the stuff makes me. Our living room seems empty now.

I did leave Holden's mini-tree in his room. I might leave it there for awhile.

We started taking things down yesterday. The tree is bare ( Sad ) and we took advantage of the 60-degree weather here in Charlotte yesterday to take down most of the outside lights.

Slight dilemma with the roof lights - I can't get up on the roof to take them down with my knee surgery, so they might just have to stay until Spring! I am sure the neighbors will love that Tongue I was out on my crutches yesterday to try and garner some sympathy and compassion should anyone have been watching out their windows.

We're keeping ours till Sunday next weekend. We are hosting another party on Saturday, so we would like to keep all the decorations in place till then.

After that, it will be chaos!

Our decorations will be up through Friday. We'll take down next weekend. I like to leave them up through the Epiphany whenever possible.

I keep staring at our tree thinking about how much more work it always seems to me to take it down rather than put it up. Maybe I'll wait until Saturday, all the kids are home then and I can get some help. I did toss out all the left over wrapping paper, bows and shopping bags that had gathered in my room though. That's a start, right? wink

It's the time of year that people post their Disney Christmas decorations here.

Here are "Before" pictures. These are all the Disney ornaments that are about to go onto our Disney tree. That poor tree is narrow and not that big, and it has to have all of these ornaments, which continue to increase each year.

Here's part of the ornament collection.

Here's another pile

And here's another pile!

The sad thing is that we STILL have several boxes of Disney ornaments that we won't use this year. But I thought I'd spare the tree this year.

I'll post later photos of what the tree looks like all decorated.

Holey Schmoley, Zapper!!!

That looks like a Disney Store exploded!! How long have you been gathering that cache?

I may just have to turn in my Disney Card. . .

I have but 6 small figures and a dozen small Mickey heads in silver and blue and that suddenly seems like a pittance. . . . sad

But again, I blame Kim. She is in charge of the tree. . .

laugh

More like the Hallmark store exploded! Most of them are Hallmark Disney ornaments. Smile

It took a few years for it to get to this stage. We had to buy a second tree just for the Disney ornaments, while the other tree is Disney-free.

Zapper all I can say is WOW. Maybe consider putting your ornaments on a rotating schedule year to year that way when you hang the ones you haven't used in a while it will be like a new discovery or seeing an old friend again. mickey

This is what happened when DS aged 2 years 8 months helps decorate the tree. I swear I did not move them after he put them up.
