Looking for feedback on the *new* fantasyland

Hello all,
I'm new to this forum, but not to the wonders of Disney. We have been 4 times in the last 5 years, each time with our kids. I am heading there later this spring, this time with my kids and with my mom (who is a newbie, and might be more of a liability than an asset, but I digress sarcastic ). Anyhow, we are a fairly up-and-at-em kind of group, we are usually there at park opening and then leave around mid-day to have some pool/rest time before dinner and maybe a trip back to a park for fireworks. I'm wondering how the new fantasyland renovation impacts the "flow" of the park? We have kids that are 8 and 6, they like some action rides (like splash and big thunder mountains, not so much space), have never been much into the characters and so are not likely to want to wait to have character meet and greets which seem like a big draw in the new fantasyland. What are we likely to find compelling in the new area? Are lines a big issue, or does having more attractions in the area dilute down the crowds?
Thanks for your thoughts!

The "flow" is still somewhat impeded and will be until the Snow White Mine Train area has been completed. At that time there will be another connection in the walking path that will make it less awkward. Right now Storybook Circus and the Enchanted Forest are not connected.

The Little Mermaid ride is really well done, and the queue is spectacular, but may be the only "value" piece for you guys in the Enchanted Forest as far as rides go. That being said. Enchanted Tales with Belle is not really a meet & greet, it's more like an interactive show and it has some special effects that make it completely worth doing. If your kids got picked to participate they might really enjoy it. Walking back to the Little Mermaid ride will take you past the rest of the stuff so that you can soak in the area. You would have to walk back into the Enchanted Forest area, and then come out the same way you went in.

Dumbo & Goofy's Barnstormer are in Storybook Circus area, there's also a splash zone that's fun for hot days. I'm not a Dumbo fan, but I must admit I loved seeing the changes that they made and it really did enhance the experience. With that area as it is right now you also have to enter & exit the same way.

Both areas have new food & a shop to check out, and the overall theming and atmosphere is really spectacular. I can't speak to lines because I saw it during special preview. I would say that you should hit it first thing in the morning for the least amount of traffic and greater ability to move through what you want to see about it quickly. I would hit Enchanted Forest first.

What is the least crowded time of day to hit this section?

I don't know that there's really enough data out there yet to make a good hypothesis about this. I mean, Enchanted Forest has only been open about 39 days and as traffic patterns through the seasons change it's going to give very different peaks.

When you first got to MK, did you go to Fantasyland first or go to another first thing?

I am with Kristen on this one. I do not think we can even guess the perfect time to do the new Fantasy Land. On our last trip we did it first thing during EMH and it was empty. However due to the Holiday schedule, EMHs started at 7am. We had plenty of time to get it all done before our breakfast reservations at 8:30. It was packed the evening we had dinner in BOG.

Obviously EMHs in the morning are going to be the least crowded. There will be few people there, no matter the time of the year. That's should be your first priority.

I saw it during a pre-view at MNSSHP, so I don't think that you can really count my experience when it comes to timing.

I think that's a fair projection, and is when I would personally look for the slowest time to be. However, the theory can be flawed if everyone showing up for EMH heads to the New Fantasyland in order to experience the shortest crowds. We just don't have enough data right now to do anything but make a guess.

My daughter is a HUGE Ariel fan. We're wondering if you should hit "Fantasyland" first thing in the morning or wait a bit? We usually take the train to "Frontierland" first thing.

I would head to Fantasyland, to do Ariel's Meet & Greet and then ride the Little Mermaid ride. The reason that I suggest going in that order is that the queue at Little Mermaid is amazing and I felt rushed through it without any line.

I would guess that it will be crowded during EMH. We have been there on several occasions, at different times, and it has been very crowded everytime, no matter day or time. I'd say just expect big crowds and maybe you will get lucky.
