Looking for info on staying at Wyndham Grand Bonnet Creek

Hi all! First post on this site, been watching it for some time now! My wife and I will be arriving in Disney is just about a month. We are staying at the Wyndham Grand Bonnet Creek. We have heard great things from a couple people we know that have stayed here. We decided not to stay on Disney property due to the cost at the time were going. For what we paid for one of the top rooms at Wyndham Grand would have gotten a low end room on the resort. Just looking to see if people have stayed here before, what was your experience? How is the transportation to the parks? We are an active couple and enjoy going out at night, is it easy to go out and get back to the hotel without a rental car? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum! I don't know much about that hotel but I know that they have specific pick up times and you have to walk out to the charter bus lot at all the parks.

My husband and I stayed here over Valentine's day weekend this year. It is a very clean, well maintained, upscale hotel. The rooms and lobby are VERY nice. I am very particular about what hotels I stay in and I was very pleased with everything here. My only FYI would be that the walls were thin for such a nice place, but I can't sleep without a loud fan so we always have ours with us, so it wasn't too much of an issue for us.

We drive our own car so I couldn't tell you first hand anything about their buses to the parks except that I saw them everyday. The valets are extremely helpful, and I'm sure they'd be happy to get you a town car or taxi for places other than the parks, like downtown Disney. Hollywood studios is less than 3 miles from the hotel and Epcot is very close too. The furthest park is only about 6 miles. We'll definitely stay again!

We stayed at their timeshare resort in 2010, so I can't tell you anything about the hotel.

In 2010, the bus transportation to the parks was better than at most non-Disney resorts, but not as convenient as Disney transportation. The buses ran pretty regularly, might have been every half hour (don't remember), but each bus traveled to TWO parks, and stopped in the parking lot, not near the entrance. It was pretty convenient when I wanted to hit the parks early and our travel-mates were sleeping in, but if you have a rental car, USE IT.

Also, if they ask you to sit through the timeshare sales pitch, DO NOT DO IT. They'll tell you it's just an hour and a half long and they'll offer you some freebie like a Visa gift card. They'll give you the freebie, but the presentation will easily take twice as long as they say it will. And it's all high-pressure, salesperson will not let you go till you've said NO about a dozen times. STAY AWAY.
