Mackenzie Crook Joins Cast of Game of Thrones: Season 3

Mackenzie Crook, perhaps best know to folks around here as Ragetti (the pirate with the wooden eye) from Pirates of the Caribbean will be joining the third season of HBO's smash hit show, Game of Thrones. He comes to the cast in the role of Orell, a "warg" or "skinchanger," who has the ability to enter an animal's mind and control its actions. Orell has a relatively minor role in the novels, and many fans wonder if we can expect more from him in the show given this high profile casting.

Are you a Game of Thrones fan? Will you give it a watch just to see Mackenzie Crook?

My absolute favourite books. I discovered the first book years and years ago, and was hooked instantly. yay

We don't get HBO in our cable package, so my son gets me the series on DVD. I've only seen the first season - can't wait to see seasons 2 and 3. I'm always leery of seeing favourite books made into movies or series, but so far I've been happy with the series. Considering the special effects required, the complex storylines, etc., they've done a good job. The character Tyrion is particularly well cast - love Peter Dinklage.

Season 1 was a very good adaptation of the first book. They start to get much 'looser' in season 2. Still a fun watch though!

I haven't read the books, mostly because I am *LOVING* the show and I don't want to ruin it. I must admit though, I've done a bit of googling for spoilers. I'm really excited to get season 3 and waiting until March is going to be so hard!

Love GoT...... I can't wait until session 3 starts. I did hear that they are making 3&4 together to keep the gap between sessions shorter and because the production for them is ever bigger and more spectacular.

Once you've watched all the episodes, I highly recommend reading the books if you get a chance. Because of time constraints, etc., the storylines in the series are somewhat compressed. The books are a great read, except that he makes us wait so looooong for the next one!
