Mickey's Backyard BBQ

I'm thinking about making a reservation for Mickey's Backyard BBQ in November (assuming they still have them at that time of year). Has anyone been to it before? What are your opinions and is it worth it?

We've been there once if your just adults going, it's not worth the price at all!. Just my opinion though. Others have liked it, I'd much rather go to the Cali Grill or Turf Club, or anywhere else, but it's geared towards kids and we don't take any.

Were there any other reasons you didn't like it or was it just too geared towards kids?

As a submarine veteran I am wondering why you use the name Spook! There were some people that came on the 'Boats' that were spooks.

I use the name Spook because it's been my nickname for as long as i can remember Smile When my brother and i were little he dumped a big bag of flour or something over my head and my dad started calling me Casper but then changed it to Spook shortly after. Who were the Spooks on the boats?

They were ghosts also. They drank our water, ate our food and breathed our air but they were never there. All I can say about them.

Joe's answer as all cryptic, and your response was vague, and I got confused laugh

Sooooo... yea....

Did you decided if you were going to do the BBQ? I've always wanted to, but I've always been afraid that on the night my reservation was for that the heat would be crazy, or it would be during a love bug invasion, or it would rain. I'm not a big outdoorsy gal. Is there a pavilion that covers the eating area at least?

You are covered but it was very hot the night we did it. The food was not all that great either. I honestly can not see anyone other than kids enjoying all that much. I would also say the best ages would be around 3-7. The food is bbq food served buffet style. It honestly was the worse burger I have had at Disney. To me neither the show or the food is worth the price tag. I rarely ever say that about anything Disney. We were on the dinning plan that trip and there is no way it was worth 2 meals. Also note that you do not get assigned seating. It is first come, first served. So if you do go and want to be near the stage you must go very early.

I've been worried about the weather too. I'm glad to hear it's covered though. I haven't quite decided whether to go or not. I haven't been hearing many good things about it sad

Spooks are the guys that do the covert stuff for the military.

I didn't make it to our MBYBBQ ressie but my dad and brother did. They said the food was ok but felt it was definatly more for the younger kids to get some full on character interaction. So if you've got younglings then its definatly worth it just for the entertainment/characters for them.
