Monorail Crawl without the alcohol?

Hey everyone! So I have a friend visiting Florida for the first time ever and my friends and I wanna introduce him to the Disney scene as much as we can.. without spending much money.. and without going to a park yuck so we were thinking we'd do the monorail crawl but only thing is- I'm not of age yet so we won't get to try all the yummy drinks you all talk Sad about but I was hoping we don't need to drink in order to see all the resorts! So what all around is there to see? I've stayed at the Polynesian once but it was years ago so I don't remember much at all and I don't know much about the other resorts either. We are also taking a bus from DTD so we might even go see some other resorts that aren't apart of the monorail. Any ideas? We definitely want to get a Dole Whip from Captain Cooks but that's our only idea so far! Oh and Earl of Sandwich at DTD yay I'm super excited to finally get SOME sort of Disney fix!

PS- we're also on a budget so we don't want to really eat a big meal anywhere just a few little treats and EOS Smile

You can certainly do the monorail crawl without the alcohol. You can do the tour of the resorts on the monorail route and instead of a drink, just drink in all the features and sights of each resort including the gift shops, hey!! you don't have to buy anything and it costs nothing to look around ANY resort. Oh and be sure to visit the Boardwalk area too, there are many good sights among their resorts as well.

You can do a cupcake crawl. This includes cupcakes in the parks as well as outside of the parks.

Depending on how late you plan on staying, you can watch the fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant from the monorail resorts.

Hi bifader,

I am not a drinker, but I plan to do a monorail crawl, AND a resort "go round" on my upcoming visit (and again in November to see the Christmas stuff)! These are all free things to see and enjoy. I may build in a snack at some of them, as you mentioned.

And as JoAnn mentioned, the cupcake crawl sounds like something fun...but there is no way I could rack them all up in one visit. You would have to cart me home in a wheelbarrow, or perhaps an ambulance from sugar overdose.

Writing this down! Thanks!
I was also going to suggest the Boardwalk for fun and amusement.

We take friends or relatives every year around the holidays, and they can't believe all you can do without going into the actual parks. We spend the whole day going resort to resort using Disney transportation, and that's not time at dtd. People think Disney and think $100s of dollars to get into the park. There's so much to do that you don't have to spend $, but you can if you want. We always get the kids chocolate or a cookie at the life-size gingerbread house in GF, and we have a few other treats along the way, but you really don't have to spend any $. We like doing that as much as the parks sometimes.

I did the monorail crawl without drinks for years! You'll have a fantastic time!

Dole Whips at the Poly, From 4pm-10pm there's Live Jazz in the Grand Floridian Lobby, there's so much to do you really don't need to drink, just enjoy the resorts and soak up the atmosphere!

If you do get thirsty though, remember that there are lots of non-alcoholic choices on the Disney Bar menu too!
