More Frequent Visits in Moderate/Value Resorts?

I like staying in "delxue" resorts as much as the next guy, but I think I'd rather go to WDW more often and stay in a less expensive resort. How about you guys?

I much prefer to go more frequently with cheaper accommodations. Who spends any time in their room anyway?

I'm with you. Thats why the majority of the time I use my DVC points to just get Studios and not 1 or 2 BR's.

Every once in a while it's fun to be "fancy" though.

Yeah, we did that this summer. We took my dad and so we splurged on a 2 BR instead of the usual Studios. We spent a bit more time in the rooms this year and it was nice indeed.

We do spend quite a bit of time in the room, lazing around on the balcony, and enjoying the amenities of the deluxe resorts, so it makes sense for us to book them. I think the balcony makes a big difference for us.

A lot of the resorts are like a destination in and of themselves.

Money Talks so I'm usually at POP. However due to the Deals this year I'm moving up to CBR.

Is it close to being able to go to POP twice for 1 CBR?

A standard room in value season at POP will cost $82 this year. A standard room in value season at CBR will cost $149 this year. So it's close to 2 for 1.

That's a tough one, since for me room is always a high % of the cost.

It's also a factor of what you're going to be doing in the room. There's no sense staying in the Grand Floridian if you're going to be go-go-going and never be in the room anyway. Unless they have particularly comfortable beds. (Which they might?)

Some people spend so much time doing stuff they might as well stay at Fort Wilderness and not bring a tent.

Not to get into cruises here, but its the same on cruise ships. I never pay extra for a balcony, because I could care less about one. I do get an oceanview room and if I want to enjoy the sea air, I go on deck.

Yea, but you can lay on your balcony in your robe. They didn't like me walking around the ship like that. (What Can I say I was Tired and hungry, and it was very late.)

Ah, who can blame you! biggrin

Also, has very little to do with this conversation, but that's why i've always thought savannah rooms are a must at AKL, too! I couldn't go watch the animals in the public areas in my pajamas.
