Mousekeeping

Does anyone do special things for the housekeeping? I was looking for a new idea.

Previously I have made a homemade card for each day, Disney Themed of course, and that is what we leave with our daily housekeeping tip. All of the cards say thanks but each as a different character or design.

The mousekeepers really seem to enjoy someone thinking of them!

Any ideas?

I love decorating for Mousekeeping muchlove

We also do the decorated cards to hold the tips.....

but I bring with clear plastic bags (usually the ones found in the candy making aisle in the craft stores)
and we put the card in there with an assortment of small candies (we have a Brach's Candy bin display where we can pick out a variety of candy) and tie it off with pretty ribbons....

We usually just gave the ME driver & the waitress CM's the tip & envelope , but next time i might step it up to include the bag.

On our cruise (non disney eek ) we did the same but added a metal tin of mints which had our home State on it and a deck of Michigan Scenes playing cards.

I know "cash is king" so I leave a generous tip but I do love dressing it up a bit in the packaging of it~

We've had several threads posted in the past about tipping and making tip envelopes for Mousekeeping in the past. It's a fun way to get ready for vacation! mickey I always make up cash tip envelopes for DME, Bell Staff, Mousekeeping, and Servers before our trip.

I think the latest trend to leave gifts for Mousekeeping has developed through the Disney Cruise Line Guests and has extended to WDW as well. With DCL being a cashless environment and all tips coming at the end of the trip people frequently leave small gifts for their cabin stewards instead. It's a very sweet thing to do because they do work very, very hard and have very little time to get off the ship during their contracts. Small trinkets from land are always appreciated by them, candy is popular, so are calling cards. In my head at least it's much different for the WDW Mousekeepers because they aren't in that maritime setting.

We write personal thank you notes inside thank you cards cards and place our tips inside the envelope with the card. On a Christmas trip we will start with a winter themed card.

Very Nice. I had not considered any candies or trinkets. Ideas are sparking! Thanks!

No worries PJsLife, we haven't had this subject brought up in a while.

Go here to fine out how the search bar works though.

We make up little envelopes with Disney stickers and such to put tips in.

Slight thread hijack (sorry). How many tip envelopes for mousekeeping will we need since we are now DVC? I read somewhere that they don't come everyday. We're staying 8 nights.

If you're staying DVC for 7 nights, you get fresh towels and new toiletries on your fourth night and then they clean the room when you check out. But for 8 nights, you might get a complete cleaning midweek. At most, though, you shouldn't need more than three envelopes, and might only need two.

As for me...I just leave cash money under the little tent card telling me who's cleaning my room. They usually figure out it's for them.

Me and the finace have been illustrating envelopes all evening, we have 14 to make :/ 10 down. Coming from over seas, we won't bring candy we leave $5 a day with the envelop and write a little note just saying thank you. Last we found a lot of house keepers took my illustrations wrote a not saying thank you for it and made us towel animals
, left extra soap if we had asked but left the cash Shock we were shocked. Maybe they they liked my drawings enough.... It was really funny
