What rides are good for little ones, hes a big boy, 35 inches with shoes (22 months), people usually think he is 4 until he talks. He loves mickey, Handy Manny, Tow Mater & is starting to know pooh & a few others.

What should we not miss? and have any of you done the parent swap? how does that work? at almost 35 pounds i am not looking forward to holding him in lines without the stroller. we were in line yesterday for somehting, and he could not decide between mom & dad, went back & forth every minute or so.

we have character meals at chef mickeys, & crystal palace. he said Disney for the first time on christmas when he opened a bunch of movies.

i am lucky that he does travel well, and the flight to orlando will probaby be filled with kids anyways. he loves to shop, and is good either in his stroller or with his harness on. there is no way i would let him walk with out it, he is too sneaky & quick, and has no fear. he will climb & jump off anything. he will also sleep in his stroller, i think we will just use ours in the park rather than a rental.

At that age my kids loved the Monorail, Fantasyland, Character Meets, and Swimming. We took my son to Hoop-de-doo Review at 20 months and he thought it was the best thing ever. He hugged the corn on the cob.

Magic Kingdom is really THE place for little ones. Any of the spoke and wheel rides will be just fine (Dumbo, Aladin's Flying Carpets). Teacups don't have to be wild, my kids liked them more at that age when you don't spin the center, but when they got to try. Small World was a win for them too. Two of my three liked Peter Pan, one of them was too afraid of the dark. My kids also loved the Country Bear Jamboree, and just about anywhere they could get up and "dance". I haven't been on the Winnie the Pooh ride, but would assume it's a win for those around 2. The giant pile of character plush at the emporium was always a stop for us, and I would buy which ever one they wanted most, that way they had a "friend" to share the fun with and "take care of".

I don't remember changing the way I toured much when I had kids. I would just plop them in their stroller (I always used my own for their comfort) and off we went. There are so many things for them even to just look at rolling down the pathways. The one thing that I did have to do when they were that age was make sure they got a nap in. Two of them could do it in the stroller and I just kept touring, one had to go back to the hotel for a nap. It really depends on the child. If he can sleep in the stroller it's a good time to let one adult at a time go on the bigger rides, or get some shopping done.

Most of the time my kids were that little I lived in California, so they did Disneyland. My oldest daughter's first trip was at 12 days old. Magic Kingdom is much larger but I don't think it will make much of a difference as long as he gets a nap in. The biggest piece of advice that I have is to really pack the diaper bag well and make sure you bring along a change or two of clothes, Have a sweater and some mittens because it can get quite chilly at night this time of year. Favorite toys or blankets are fantastic touchstones for their feeling of safety while strolling along. I always packed mine like we would be gone overnight. However, if you run out of anything the baby center is always well stocked, use it! For me having everything I needed right there with me made touring so much easier. If I didn't have a well packed diaper bag it would have been much harder.

Most of all, relax. You'll be in Disney with the ones you love most. Total Win!

we have a week to go, and after a couple of days of research an reading the unoffical guide to WDW with kids i am feeling a bit more prepared. packing lists have been made and we are off to get the last few things we need. i found the location of the Publix market closeset to Pop, and have printed directions. DS eats at least 2 banana's a day (this week), more if we would let him. i am not paying WDW prices for that many banana's
I am making a cover for his stroller that we can put down when he sleeps, summer clothes have been pulled out & washed. And he is geting used to the sport strap on his glasses an can no longer get his glasses off without help.

9 sleeps to go

I recommend taking him to Hollywood Studios and seeing Disney Junior Live on Stage. It will be characters he is familiar with from the morning cartoon lineup and he can dance and sing. Mickey's Philharmagic in the Magic Kingdom is really neat for little ones my daughter constantly talks about Donald taking Mickey's hat. She will be three in about two weeks.

We are finally on our way. Currently sitting at the Toronto airport waiting for our final flight. We will be in Orlando in 5the hours. I have been working too much overtime trying to get ready to spend much time on the boards.
I will never book holidays so close to Christmas again.

So excited to be going. I will have a great trip report in a few weeks.
