NEW to this site

Good Morning Everyone,

Former Cast member, now in the US Navy. Love Disney, and figured I would join the site to share some of my Disney experiences. I usually go once a year now due to military, and my next trip is late September early October. It will be my sons first trip, he will be 8 months old at the time and I am so excited for him to meet Mickey!

Welcome to the forum!! I've been here only a short time myself but it's great and if you're like me, you'll soon feel like you're now part of this huge, extended Disney family.

Thank you so much for your service to our country. My Poppy (granddad) was in the Navy way back when. I truly appreciate what you do to protect our freedoms!!

awesome

welcome Paul. You have found the right place - we all love the mouse. I also want to thank you for your service. I am quite partial to the Navy as my brother served for 22 active duty and 8 years reserves.

Welcome Aboard, and THANK YOU for your service. My brother was in the Navy, and my dad, the Army.

Tell us about some of your Disney loves (rides, restaurants, what you did as a cast member, etc.)

Alot has changed since I worked there. I started back in 2004 as a CP living in Vista Way; If you've heard the stories most of them are true! It was a cool place to live. I took a job as a bartender and when I got there I got hand picked amongst 20 other CP's to go and work for EPCOT Events. I was dissapointed at first, but it was the best job ever. We did all the special events for EPCOT, Typhoon Lagoon and my favorite Pleasure Island. We did weddings, groups, parties, VIP's etc. Our bosses were very cool and we got to meet some really cool famouse people. Some of my favorites that came through our office were Tom Hanks and Tim Allen and also Shaq haha. He was a funny guy! I enjoyed working there so much that I stayed for 2 more years after my College program was done as a full time CM. One might ask "why I left Disney" and I ask myself that alot lol. But I left Disney to take a Job in Hawaii for Norwegian Cruise Lines and stayed there for 3 years cruising the Hawaiian islands until my ship got moved to the Bahamas. Thats when I did my last contract with them and decided to serve my country and join the Navy like my Grand Father did. Which brings me to know. I try and get back to Disney as much as possible. I love being there, it brings back so many great memories. I still have alot of friends who work for the mouse that I love visiting. If anyone has any questions or interested in any of my stories just let em know. I also have a cousin who just got done her CP and now works Fulltime so Im still really close to the Pulse.
Thank you everyone for welcoming me and look farward to reading your blogs and chatting with you all!

'Paul

Thank you! Your son is going ot love it. Its not too soon to start planning. Tell him to start researching and make sure he has atleast 1 if not more college credits completed by his senior year of HS. While hes a senior he can go to a campus that Disneys at and interview for a roll. Then he can do it right out of HS like I did. That was the best way to do it. Learned alot being young and made me grow up and appreciate everything more. also Disney CP does not pay very well lol. So being young and not having any bills truly helps ALOT. Tell your son Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions.
