Okay Disneymooners Speak Up!

Why is Disney the Best Place on the Planet to Honeymoon? What made it your choice and why should other couples go too?

We did it! I used to be a beach girl (after 2 kids, not so much now) and DH hates the beach, he likes the snow and I hate the cold. Compromise on WDW. I had never been before and he had been once as a teenager. Stayed at POR Magnolia Bend, in Oak Manor. Took a horse and carriage ride at just the right time, on accident, and were able to watch fireworks most of the ride. The boat to DTD is a huge bonus!

It was my first trip and DH's first stay on property, which may be the reason we like POR so much. My heart stays there every night.

There is so much to do and so many wonderful restaurants! Plus the feeling of being a kid again with your new spouse is such a neat thing. We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter which is such a quaint and romantic hotel.

I don't really have any tips yet since we won't be Disneymooners for another month and a half, but we chose Disney because Disney is really my favorite vacation destination, we love Disney movies, and my fiance has never been so I really want to share it with him for the first time! He wanted to go to somewhere other than just Florida, though, so we compromised and are going on a three-night Disney cruise, too. We're also staying at Port Orleans Riverside (thanks to recommendations from people here!!). Laughing out loud

The reason we went was mostly because of my crazy obsession with everything Disney biggrin However neither one of us has any desire to go anywhere else (well except DL). We went to Disney for our first trip together too. He'd never been and I think I've got him hooked since we've gone every year since awesome
We Honeymooned last November and stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. We had originally booked at Coronado Springs but then switched to get a free dining plan. We loved Riverside a lot but I'm not sure I'd stay there again. I only say that though because for us, we are pretty much only in the room to sleep so it's cheaper to stay at a Value. I have absolutey no complaints about Riverside muchlove

We honeymooned there 28 years ago. It was my idea, but the DW had no objections. I was looking for someplace fun, that could still be romantic. Plus EPCOT was only 2 years old at the time, and still had that new park smell ( ok,.. I might be imagining the new park smell). That was the last time we went there for about 15 years, till the kids were old enough to enjoy it. We've been back fairly often since ( they also added 2 more parks since then) and joined the DVC. This passed January the DW, and I bought seasonal passes. We'll be there for a just planned 28th anniversary / house closing ( hopefully). this April

We got married in '07 and went to WDW for our honeymoon. Our first trip to was in '00, staying at All Star Sports and I asked Emma to marry me while we were there. I had lots of ideas and stuff planned, long story short, I ended up proposing to her in our room. For our honeymoon we went back to All Star Sports and when checking in we asked if we could get the room we stayed in back in'00, the lady at the desk said that that block was being renovated but she went off to check something. "Good news, you can have that room in 3days", awesome. Around the parks everyone was saying "congratulations" and "best wishes", visitors and cast members, we even got to skip a few lines, received a few free treats, had tables specially decorated for our dining, even got a 'just married' sign put on our car at the Tommorrowland Speedway. Lots of happy memories and good times at WDW.

When we got engaged, she's the one who asked "Can we go to Disney for our honeymoon"; of course, I said Yes! At the time we got engaged, I had been once, and she hadn't been yet! Since then, went to FL just over a year ago, went to MK for a day, and Epcot for a day, mostly to get a feel for the place so we'll have a better idea what we want to do when we go back for our honeymoon!

We did it because of the variety of things to do, you can be a kid in the morning and at night have your romantic adult evening

As a mother with a child from a prior marraige we chose disney for our weddingmoon because we could encorporate her in all of the events. We are not a couple getting married, we are a couple with a child joining together into one family. I feel it is very important that she feels this isnt just about us solidifying our relationship but about her being part of the proccess. I dont need a ruckus party for my reception but fireworks with my family and friends sounds just right. I dont need a drink on a beach in a bikini with my husband but a few days with my newly pronounced family for us all to bond and make memories together. Disney allows us a romantic feel and beautiful wedding/honeymoon but also the feel of memories together as a family. This is what mattered to me the less stress more memories approach.

The warm location, the variety you can get in one place, the food, the drinks, the pools, the fun, the memories, etc. The list can go on for hours. We also loved the ease of the Honeymoon Registry Disney has. It was amazing and made the trip more fun for us and our wedding guests because they had a chance to feel more like they really were contributing to the honeymoon, not just giving us a check.

My honeymoon @ DL was my first Disney Vacation back in 2004. DH had been several times as a kid. I fell in love with all things disney on the trip, and since then all vacations that are not visiting family/friends are Disney.

Sitting on a beach is my idea of a torture chamber, i prefer to be busy on vacation. And not hot. We tend to travel in december or janaury when the heat in Florida is a bit more mild.

I love hearing about all the Disneymoons! There are so many fantastic reasons to chose Disney, it's a wonder that anyone goes anyplace else at all.
